Had a great mountain lion hunt. Fifth trip out yielded a great tom. Thanks to Josh and Amanda for being great friends to take us out and show us a great time chasing cats. Thanks to Kent and Jay for being there to share in the excitement. This was my first lion tag.

We are camped right on Gooseberry Road about a mile below the Gooseberry Ranger Station. Left no legs in a camp.

Congrats on the tag. My wife drew the tag in 14 and on day 5 killed a 318 bull. Not as big as she was hoping but it was a tough hunt. We saw more people on that hunt than the archery or general season rifle hunts. Your goal is doable I think, but Fishlake definitely does not have the quality...

My wife Brenda and our daughter Alyssa had Fishlake cow tags this year. Alyssa got hers opening morning and Brenda a week later. The women filled the freezers for the families this year.

I shot this deer last Monday. We are really after elk but I had a deer tag this year just in case a nice buck presented a good shot. This one presented a great shot at 20 yards.

It was early rifle.

I have this tag also. I usually find them up out of Glen Canyon parking lot just below Timp but I have yet to do that this year. I was up on Little Baldy yesterday and glassed one cow on Big Baldy about 3/4 the way up but two hikers were on the ridge and spooked her towards Battle Creek...

Got the daughter's 2009 antelope back on Christmas Eve just in time for Christmas. She was pretty excited when she saw it on the wall with a big ribbon on it.

Did this cow have her bottom jaw open really wide with her tongue sticking out and a glazed over look and not wanting to go anywhere? I was up there first part of November and on the shore of Strawberry was a cow like I described. I called the DWR on her but don't know what became of it.

Last blood was on a ridge half way between the sluffs west of Sheep Creek and the main Gooseberry Highway. Pretty much up on the ridge just southwest of the campground. If you happen to run into it let me know. We'll probably be back down there next weekend hoping to smell it out. Thanks.

Hey everybody, just need to throw this out there for anybody hunting the Gooseberry area above the campground this fall. My brother-in-law shot a 6 point bull last Sunday (Sept. 12th). We tracked him for 200 yards with great blood, found the back 1/3 of his arrow and then nothing. Not a drop...

My daughter went on her first hunt ever this morning on a CWMU for buck antelope and she scored with a great goat at about 150 yards. She was one excited 16 year old. Hope you enjoy the pics.
