In Reply #13 I showed the camper on the truck. Here is a picture showing the camper removed.

This Outfitter Apex 8 has been our favorite hunting lodging since 2004. We generally unload it which frees the truck. Also we pull a 12' covered trailer with the 4wheeler, coolers, and other supplies. This gives us a frig/freezer, microwave, cooktop, etc.

My vote goes to the W Cafe, especially for breakfast but of course when you are hunting, cafe breakfast is out.

OK, being honest, my Son and I both sorta got emotional when I shot my last Elk in 2017, at age 74.

What's up? My online is showing Friday the 9th for the 1st rifle Bull opener and Friday the 23rd for the 2nd rifle Bull opener?? OK I was looking at page 4 and it was worded kinda screwy. That apparently is the cutoff date. Page 34 shows the 10th and the 24th as the opening dates.

I have to cross Texas to get almost anywhere West of me and I can assure you that the Sun will rise and set and you will still be in Texas.

While you are searching for the knife's owner, I hope that someone will find my camera that I lost on the Uncompahgre (GMU 62) in 2007. It contains all of the pictures that we took of my Son with his first elk. Yes, I reported the loss to the Colorado Wildlife folks.

Very nice Longshot. I hunted second season 61 in 2012 with 16PP's, took a good enough for me 6X6, and got myself out of the PP chase/race.

I completely understand your loss. In 2007 I lost my camera in Unit62, which contained the only picture that we had of my Son with his Elk kill. I reported the loss to the CO Wildlife Office in Montrose in hopes that someone would find it. I guess that it is still out there somewhere.

Longshot, I dumped a 6X6 Bull in Unit 61 in very short order with an '06 using 165gr Accubond. Same with Whitetails here at home. I love them for accuracy as well as getting the job done.

It is not difficult to leave a skinned out testicle to a major portion of a hindquarter. Matter of fact I leave one attached to each hind quarter just in case. I attach the carcass tag to one of them and bag it up. I insure that that is the top portion in the cooler so that I can quickly find...

My Non-Res second season Bull Elk tag came in the mail today. At 74 years old, this will be my last time to carry a rifle in Colorado.

My Son's Elk PP refund came in the mail today. The enclosed letter stated that the Elk tags would be mailed by the 23rd. My tag will be in that mail out. (grin)

The draw is a management tool, that in many units, is not to control/limit the wildlife population but to control/limit the number of hunters.
