Full retirement for Federal LEOS is 25 years, no age requirement. You can start at 22 and retire at 47! I’m glad the US Attorney’s Office is prosecuting these cases and not drug cases!

    Cwd...?

In 2018 I shot a nice 4x4 in Unit 12 near Meeker, mandatory testing area. Deer tested positive for CWD and DOW told me the deer had to go to the landfill, which is where it ended up. They reimbursed me the cost if a basic deer butcher (no speciality cuts) and I had to produce the receipt...

Should I get Travel Health Insurance for South Africa?

I went to RSA in 2016 and bought Global Rescue for 10 days and it was like $139 dollars. I was 58 and in good health. If you got hurt, they would fly you to the trauma hospital of your choice in the States. No one can plan for a heart attack or a broken leg. I was told that RSA has great...

    BLM proposes new regulations

roadrunner, I’m pretty sure you don’t get it! You are the one that said the outfitter couldn’t drive on BLM. BH said you can’t hunt School land unless the lessee granted permission, I was pointing out that not all school land is leased and is open for public hunting. I know several different...

    BLM proposes new regulations

Again, smarba and me have it right, roadrunner still doesn’t get it. I see 20+ hunters hunting the State School land every year and being checked by CO’s and no tickets written. Some of the hunters camp on the school land.
  17. S

    BLM proposes new regulations

Well roadrunner the outfitter has been driving on the BLM for 40 years (and paying to outfit on it)!
  18. S

    BLM proposes new regulations

Smarba is saying what I have said to a certain extent! My outfitter either owns or leases the private land that connects to the BLM so he drives on the BLM from land he owns or leases, I don’t know if that is legal but he is a stickler for the rules. The State School land isn’t leased by the...

    BLM proposes new regulations

No on State Trust lands. It’s 3%, I made a mistake on the 1.5%, no sliding scale. This is for outfitters making money and wanting to hunt Federal Land. It is my understanding (from the outfitter) that outfitters can not hunt State Trust Land in Colorado! When we drive through it we can not...

    BLM proposes new regulations

Yep! I believe it is 3%. FOIA BLM if you don’t believe it.

    BLM proposes new regulations

1.5 or 3% or gross receipts from hunts. Allows outfitters to drive on and hunt BLM. You can hunt the BLM, you may or may not be able to drive on it.
  22. S

    BLM proposes new regulations

They already “lease” the hunting rights to outfitters, in Colorado anyway. 1.5% of their gross receipts to hunt it, gives them vehicle access where the general public can’t.
  23. S

    30%, I don't think so....

I hunted the 2008 season after the bad 07/08 winter, I saw saw plenty of elk and only one spike mule deer in 5 days of hunting, this winter must have been really bad from all the reports. I had the last 4 days of the second combined booked and it got cancelled, a blessing.
  24. S

    30%, I don't think so....

Our rancher in Hamilton (Units 12 and 13) said he had multiple 6 pointers curl up and die on HWY 317, it doesn’t sound good!

    Reissue 2023

I hunted the 2008 season in Hamilton, Colorado (just south of Craig). I used to see 30-40 bucks in a 5 day hunt (granted, most were small but I’ve killed two 165-170 bucks there) and during my hunt I saw one spike mule deer. I believe you are correct that DOW didn’t cut tags.

    Reissue 2023

Me and a buddy were booked for OTC bull elk for last 4 days of second combined in unit 12/13, season is cancelled, outfitter is pissed! Us, we are happy, a couple of ranchers said the winter kill was devastating, even for elk!

    Corner Crossing Lawsuit Update

    Another Utah outfitter pinched?

The system worked! The burden of proof is on the Government, they have to prove you guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, you do not need to prove your innocence. Obviously, the State could not prove their case and the charges were dropped. BB, did your client get his bull back? You handled the...

    Colo res vs nonres quotas

I haven't been saying you need us. Maybe I haven't been clear, with the money that NR's bring in, the guys calling the shots don't want to lose that money and I don't think you will get the 90/10 you want. Believe me, I would be pissed if I couldn't hunt deer every year in the state I live...

    Colo res vs nonres quotas

I've been hunting Colorado since 1992. I hunted New Foundland last year, the most recent year I hunted Colorado was 2021. Below is a break down of most of the funds that I spent in Colorado. Outfitter--$6000.00 (he lives in Hayden) NR Licenses--Deer and elk--about $1000! Brothers in...

    Colo res vs nonres quotas

So you're blaming non-residents for wolf reintroductions that the residents of Colorado voted for? I've filled up my truck several times in Craig at pretty high prices. Be careful what you ask for, you might regret it! Full Sarcasm!
  40. S

    Colo res vs nonres quotas

I read that non-resident hunters bring in 50 million dollars in revenue, that's a lot of money to thumb your nose at.
