How's the weather out there, gentlemen?

Specifically in the band of mountains north of highway 20 and south of 21? I've been seeing snow in instagram feeds from out that direction since mid September. Are forest service roads through there still passable? Preemptive thanks for any info you can pass along. We'll see ya on the...

Idaho Unit 43 opinions and suggestions

    >NorthStar, have you finalized your plans? >I'm excited for you, even >though the winter kill might >make the hunt a little >harder. > >PM me for elk spots when >you plan for 2018. After seeing the regs come out a couple weeks ago, I think we're good to go. It's all over now but the...

Idaho Unit 43 opinions and suggestions

I'll be in the border area of 39/43 this October. I'd be more than happy to discuss what I find there for deer with you when we get back home. I'll likely be back in 2018 too, but my old man and I will be looking for Elk instead. Best of luck this fall!

    Uintah Basin Shed Bust

Forgive the ignorance of a flat-lander, but how is there so much money to be made from elk sheds that folks will break the law to get at them. I look for whitetail sheds too but only to get out into the woods come spring time and they really serve no purpose other than something cool to look at.

F&G on Lowering Mule Deer Antlerless tags, raising elk tags

Thanks for posting this. I suppose the real pain of this harsh winter won't translate to the hunting community for another year or two then?

    2017 regulations

I'm getting anxious to chisel my own plans into stone, coming out from MN. Is it safe to assume the season dates for mulies will mirror the last 2?

    West Central Wisconsin

LAST EDITED ON Oct-31-16 AT 10:33PM (MST)[p]3 years ago my step dad bought a piece of property in Wisconsin farm country. I've been hunting it since then, passing small bucks in favor of does and it paid off this year during general archery. Tagged a dandy and filled the freezer for another year.

D Bags in the high country

Good reading here for a mud duck from Minnesota who has never been out west with a rifle in hand yet. I've been wondering about how to handle this exact situation as I'm planning on driving out to Idaho next season for mule deer. It seems a little difficult coming from the perspective of a...

    Non-res seeking location tips

Hey everyone! Name's Phill and I'm a 36yo Minnesota resident who's been hunting whitetails in the woods and farmlands of MN and Western WI with my family since before I was old enough to carry a pellet gun. I've always been interested in hunting a western state for muleys and have recently...
