Well having him going to the homecoming dance on the opening of the youth hunt. We finally got out hunting three days after it opened. We hunted hard for four day's. After a few missed chances. He finally sealed the deal. At about 80 yards. A bull chasing a cow. Proud dad!

I can take my son to any, Any bull unit. I'm most likely taking him up by Smith & Morehouse. Any better idea's out there? I live in Brigham city so that is a bit of a drive. Did anyone else draw an Elk tag for Hardscrabble? Has anyone one here hunted there before? If so how was your experience? Is their any Bull's there worth shooting? Does anyone know anything about Fred Johns?

I just bought a Nitesite scope mount. Has anyone on here used one for any hunting? If so what do you think of them? I also bought the spotter after using the scope a few times. Any thought's on the spotter?

Why do we hunt deer before the rut? Tradition? What? To make more money? Wouldn't it make more sense to hunt deer after the rut? Like we do for Elk. What is your opioion? Do you think the deer heard would grow?
