So I applied for deer, elk, antelope, and oryx (I also selected fourth choice for deer and elk) and didn't get drawn. What other options do I have as a youth resident to hunt this year? This is my first time not being drawn for anything and I just wanted to hear other hunters thoughts.

I am a New Mexico resident and will be applying for oryx for the first time. Any thoughts on which is better?

Thanks for the tip; I was looking on google earth and already found some waterholes. I have Friday and Monday off so I'm planning on heading out there for those days to see if there's still water in them.

I'm sixteen years old and have never hunted unit 18 before. Does anybody have any tips on any areas to get started? I've already missed a lot of school with my elk hunt so I can't miss much more other than for the hunt itself.

Me and my family hunted unit 51 last year during the second rifle hunt. We filled all four tags in the Canjilon area.
