    Colorado Governor's tag buck.

Came across this one and couldn't help but think that guys like ColoradoBoy are why Mossback etc hasn't really taken up Colorado in more recent years. They're here, but you don't see @mossbackcolorado for a reason other than legal. This isn't the first time we've seen him involved in a State tag...

    Unit 63 Muzzleloader Deer

There's a reason that tag is on the leftover list. Great tag if you can learn the unit. I'd say use this year as a learning experience to grow on for a future tag. If you get lucky and slosh into a bigun count your lucky stars and go back the next year. More than likely though you'll glass till...

Any idea on score on this buck?

Struggled to come up with 180" with this deer on the hoof last year and passed during the archery hunt. Buddy notched his rifle tag on him later on and he got the tape to 182". My guess is that with the extras and the mains he'll gross 180+. Only one way to find out that I know of.

    Mule Deer Counties

nripepi - I imagine developing a z-score wouldn't be too hard if you charted the buck to doe ratio for every county and found the mean. At that point it's just a statistical math problem.

    20 Years in Business!!

Found you in 2006 as a junior enlisted Marine stationed in Japan. Had missed 2 seasons at that point and the community was (still is) fun to live vicariously through when I couldn't be out there myself. Good work and thanks. Congratulations on 20!

    Mule Deer Counties

Interesting topic where I imagine the only quantifiable data you're going to find is Boone & Crockett along with Pope & Young. You should be able to find the counties producing the fewest entries and there's your answer in the most scientific manner possible. However, there are many side notes...

since deadline is past, post what you applied for

Sheep, Moose, and goat just for grins cause who knows right? I'll draw my rifle elk tag to go with dad and a buddy. Should draw my muzzy antelope with a couple buddies. Got a shot with 1 point for the rifle bear tag, but not holding my breath which means leftovers again. Just got a PP for deer...

    Reissued Year

The 60 day drying period is up so we went and had the buck officially scored yesterday. I say we because my buddy Lionel got his crate back from Africa with all his goodies. So we took Valentine's Day off and had ourselves a Bro Date for the ages. We had originally green rough scored the buck at...

    Reissued Year

Once I had the encounter with that really nice buck I figured it was time to get serious. By that I mean I started getting in contact with my landowners. Spent a Saturday feeding cattle, doing some electrical work, drinking coffee and generally just getting caught back up with everyone. I even...

http://www.monstermuleys.info/photos/user_photos_2018/86496img20181022185417471.jpg I took that sunrise photo on Sunday October, 21. The very next day I took off work early with the plan to go to the gym, get in a glassing session and back to the office to finish my day off. On my way back...

    Reissued Year

Spent the rest of that week hunting both morning and evening for him. Saw him once in the creek bottom that I had gotten permission on the edge of. With the sun shining through the leaves that were still green and the hue shining off him I named him the Jolly Green Giant as he was HUGE! The only...

    Reissued Year

The next day came and went with no sightings. Or the next day, or the day after that. It took a full week to relocate him as the rut had kicked in and they were all cruising looking for hot does. Eventually I relocated him about a mile from where I had seen him the night before my season opened...

    Reissued Year

My buddy Lionel had the rifle tag for the late December hunt that he picked up with the app and knew which buck he wanted. The buck that I had passed on at his property early on in October was the only buck he had decided that he wanted. To be honest if he would have had the tag in his pocket...

Noooooo... Keep posting your kill site photos to social media and the hunting forums. I promise we aren't stealing your honey holes... In all seriousness, yes, if you post a photo taken with your phone and you had your GPS turned on (most phones you have to actively turn it off for this...

    Reissued Year

Next up was my buddy Dwight who picked up a muzzleloader buck tag just east of Fort Collins off the app. The Pawnee is FLAT! We all understand that antelope country is generally devoid of cover, but you can almost always count on terrain features to give you the ability to close those last...

    Reissued Year

I met some fantastic people this year and was contacted by a bunch of successful subscribers. One of whom was a fella named Austin from Sacremento. He'd picked up a killer rifle antelope tag and since I'd always wanted to poke around the unit I invited myself to tag along which he accepted...

The next day was scheduled for my buddy Lionel. He's been my best buddy for the last 20+ years, he was the best man at my wedding and we even joined the Marine Corps together. While my enlistment was spent touring tropical destinations like Japan and Australia, he was apart of the push through...

    Reissued Year

One of the hunts that I had on my Watchlist was a whitetail hunt out in eastern Colorado. My wife had killed a great 164" buck there in 2012 and she lords it over me that she has a bigger whitetail than I do by about 15". Since I got my mule deer tag in late August I told my other hunting buddy...

http://www.monstermuleys.info/photos/user_photos_2018/2365712427.jpeg With everything else going on this year I wasn't able to go on my elk hunt this year which was kind of a bummer cause it's the hunt my Dad and I always like to do together. Such is life. My archery mule deer tag started in...

    Reissued Archery Giant

This is my favorite angle of him that I was trying to upload yesterday. Everybody else likes his left side with all the extras he's packing along with the split at the end of the main beam. But his right side still surprises me even after looking at him for 2 months. Specifically that sword G4...

Bessy- Better multiply Wiz's by more than 2... Maybe that Utah public edumecation aint all it's cracked up to be. If you need I'm sure we can all chip in to send a "Math For Dummies" book. And we all know he caped that buck for a life size mount. You can clearly see in the pics that he stuffed...

    Reissued Archery Giant

Stubaby- Yep. MuleyGrande- We were guessing 203-207 on the hoof. I really don't wanna say what we taped him out as cause then you'll all know just how pathetic I am at measuring when I get the final score done. Thanks guys. His giant frame and extras really are what my dreams are made of...

    Reissued Year

With the app this year all of my hunts were tags that came reissued from the Parks and Wildlife. The first hunt of the year was my muzzleloader antelope. Given that reissued tags can pop up anytime before or even during a season I had told myself to be patient and wait for a good rifle tag. But...

    Reissued Archery Giant

Well with the Colorado Leftover Watch app that we created this year it's been a busy season. I put this hunt code for the archery hunt around the house in my Watchlist along with every other hunt code that I had some knowledge about. When it popped as a notification in late August as a reissued...

Reissued Tags on the leftover list

Alright, so I'm the guy that owns the Colorado Leftover Watch App and this is obviously front and center on my radar. I didn't want to chime in, but I feel like I kinda had to at this point. I went down to the Denver office this morning. As you can imagine they are incredibly busy trying to get...

    30" bucks

I remember back in the day reading the magazines and all the rage was a 30"er. They're so rare. They're like unicorns, leprechauns and 4 leaf clovers. Nowadays everyone wants a 200"er. Everyone's got a 200"er that they measured with a rubber band. I've only ever seen one buck that was over 200"...

    Monster Muleys History

Not exactly sure how long Monster Muleys has been live on our Google machines, but I know it's been awhile. The search history pulls threads from as early as 2005 sometimes. I've been a lurker/poster with a couple different handles over the last 7 years. Seen folks come and go with a relative...

Think he'll end up over 180?

Seems like every year around this time you're complaining that you can't find a big buck to hunt and then in about a month you'll turn up a slob for us to drool over. As far as this buck going 180+, it all depends on how he finishes. He's got quite a bit to go if he's gonna stretch the tape...
