I’ve shot one at 50, 360 and could’ve shot at 840 but passed for a variety of reasons. For a ewe I don’t think a spotter is all that necessary. Definitely not as necessary as extra water, gas and fix a flat:)

Agree with all the above. Super mobile animals. Which parts of the units they’re in is a huge toss up that can depend on lots of factors. Big issues are access, pressure and effort. Bring fix a flat gas and water.

I’ll never forget some of the trash heaps I saw hunting BLM near Taos. There’s some annoyances up here too- chubby flat brimmed bubbas on side by sides all over the place. But not a lot of litter at least!

I left NM for ID, and the only thing I miss are the food and weather. even the outdoors in general are an improvement here.
