colorado units 54,55

54,55,54,55 thats all i keep hearing about?Are they that good?
Whats so special about them...Can you get landowner tags?

When all deer licenses in Colorado went draw only, the number of licenses in these units was reduced dramatically. Because of this, the deer population here has rebounded quite well. The buck/doe ratio is high with a large number of mature bucks. I've seen ads in the local paper for hunters wanting landowner tags. If you do find one, be prepared to fork over some cash.

Lucky you Todd,MY brother drew a 55 3rd season tag.I was wondering if i could buy a tag and go with him...He was putting in for another unit that he knows.But this on kept being talked about so he went for it.Now he has to start learning it real fast!!!

the 5 Gunnison units had a 90% reduction in
tags in 1999 the year we went statewide draw.
That was by far the highest of any area in
Colo and held that low tag number until this
year when it was increased some. Gunnison
has THE BEST big game habitat in America, bar
none from top to bottom(summer-winter).
