Hey fellas
I know you are all pysched up for the upcoming hunting season and I just wanted to know what your goals are going to be. I personally just want something 4 four points on one side for my rifle hunt. But for my archery hunt I just want a buck. So what do you guys want this year??

Well I drew no tags this year So it's only general season muzzleloader in Washington this year unless I draw a late buck tag for WA. wont know tell Aug.

I will hold out for a 23" 4X4 or bigger. I got nice bucks in MT the last two years so I will hold out for a nice one or I will go home with tag soup.

good luck.

Have 160 class 170 class but want to jump up to 190 class and above. I am going to have be in the right place at the right time. I have seen some already that are looking good!

30 inch, or 185 score. I'm used to eating my tag, but you have to have standards.

Just the chance to see the 30"ers I saw last year as far as meat any 3yrs old buck ( 3pts or better )here in CA.
as to this point, theirs still NV,AZ,WY t o draw!
good luck all

A man's gotta eat ya know.

mid 80s Utah antelope from 3 corners

That ole mossback thats been teasing me up at the middlefork for that last 3 years...

Any Elk from northern Utah

I'll be in unit 11 in CO. I realize it isn't a "trophy" unit so a decent 22-24" 4x4 in the 150-160" class would be fine with me.
Good luck.

To spend 10 days in a place that will take me away from it all. If I harvest a deer that will be a bonus. Just spending the time on the mountain is what I am after.

Spring turkey with a bow, 170 class sheep, 140 class whitetail with a bow, and a deer or elk in colorado. Got the turkey goal accomplished, come on sheep !!! Gary

The opportunity to make another years worth of everlasting memories w/ my father, son and hunting buddies...

you said it osok. have fun with family and friends in the great cathedral of the outdoors. i'm too old to worry about scores, points, spreads or trophies. have plenty of them on the wall now. just enjoy the experience with my boys, my ol' man, and my brother. and right now, keep my fingers crossed to get drawn for a tag.

Well....I got lucky with a High country tag in CO.

Hoping for a heavy 190+ typical, but will probably drop the first 180 class buck I see.

Will be good hunting with my brother!

Good luck out there, season is just around the corner.

I usually set my goals based on what I see during the scouting season. If the biggest buck I see is a 180 class buck, I usually try and hunt that buck.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-14-05 AT 03:39PM (MST)[p]To be semi-retired by the end of this year at 48.

Oh, and what OSOK said. My dad passed away a bit over 16 months ago and my mom just under a year so I am sure feeling the desire to make memories with my family while I can. I really don't care how big of a buck I kill. I just want to treasure it all.

I drew Nevada so I will trophy hunt the first 4 days. If I can't find a big one by then, I'm going to shoot the first 38 incher I see so at least I won't go home empty handed!

Just having a good time with Dad and my Son who will be going on his first Biggame hunt this year.

Three generations hunting together for the first time, should be fun

LAST EDITED ON Jun-14-05 AT 06:14PM (MST)[p]Besides the usual awesome time I have hunting with friends and family, I do have some high and lofty goals for the year. :):)
Have a few buddies I wouldn't mind hooking up with like these two.

Hoping I'll get my bull moose tag and will be chasing the big boys this Oct (4:1 odds).
A bull like this would be nice. :)

Really good chance I'll get drawn for mountain goat. Would like to take a decent billy for my first goat. Doesn't need to be a Monster, but I'd still take monster if I see one. :) :)
Of course then there's the other pursuits like whiteys, wolves, and lions. If I do half as good as last year I'll still be damn pleased. :) :)
Think my bro will let me kill a bigger Tom than the one I killed last year? :) :)

BC,
As usual great visuals!.
My goals?
All depends what shows up in my mailbox.
Aside from the unknown big game tags I hope to draw, I hope to land a salmon bigger than my kid caught last year!

Harry,
That is an AWESOME Fish. Always great to spend time with family :)
Looks like my old man and I are going to do an early season muley hunt in a totally new area for the both of us. I know there are some monsters in there but which basin is the question. Treating the hunt like a big long scouting trip. Not too concerned bout tagging a buck but more interested in seeing some spectacular country and spending the week with dad. Will focus big time on tagging a monster during the late season around the house here instead.

170" mulie with my bow. Had tag sandwich for a couple of years now, but still waiting, this year he won't get spooked off.

Hoping to get my Goat Draw, again with the bow.

And anything else that walks into my arrows, Moose, Cougar, Whitetail.

How does a person follow DK and BUCKSPY? I'm going on a couple of adventures this year. I'm planning to have fun, make some friends and see some new country. If I get a buck, he'll be 180 or will have mass and trash.

Also, my wife and I applied for antelope together. She's never hunted with me in 22 years of marriage, so I'm hoping we draw. It could be my most memorable hunt of '05, even if I get a studly mule deer on another hunt.

I'll take a full curl ram (Jokes...if anybody out there looked at my post in the General Forum)!!!

Seriously I'd like any buck that has at least decent height, width, point length.......but has tons of mass. Haven't ever seen one, hope he gives me a chance this year.
