It's for real. I guess I'm just living right. I actually went and watched the draw and you can imagine how suprized I was when they called my name--twice, everyone else there was as shocked as well. I've never been that lucky but I'll sure take it.

Mossyhorn - Congrats on the tags. I wasn't one of the lucky one's. Can I ask you did you buy a ton of tickets or did you just get lucky by buying a few?

Thanks,
IB

Mossyhorn,

WOW>>> Congrats on a successful draw. I can't draw a tag with one in 10 odds. You are living right!!!! I'm interested in just how many tickets you bought if you are willing to give that info out. You aren't the recent powerball winner by chance??(LOL)....

I'm sending you a PM so check your inbox.

GOOD LUCK and CONGRATULATIONS>>..

Dear IB and Monte,

Thanks for your congrats!! I bought $180.00 worth of tickets. I was really wanting to draw the deer tag so I put in 24 chances. There didn't seem to be many tickets in the antelope barrel so I put in 18 chances. I put in 6 chances in both the elk and moose almost as an afterthought. Thought if I didn't try, I couldn't win. I went to the drawing and they said they had over 20,000 entries. They had over 1,800 entries for the Super Combo Hunt. I talked to one guy there and he said he had between 100 and 150 entries in the antelope alone. How bout you guys? I'm hoping my luck holds out for the deer controlled hunt. I put in for the early unit 39 hunt. My 20 year old daughter is going to be hunting with me this year and I thought that would be a good hunt for her to get her first buck. I also put in for an elk hunt in 45 and antelope in 42. Well thanks for the words of encouragement.

No Monte, it wasn't me that won that 200 million dollar lottery. lol

Regards,

M.H.

You can't even let the man enjoy himself for a couple of days and bask in the excitement without hounding him about filming the hunts. Thats what I like about you! Keep up the good work! Don't you think it would be better video if you knew how to bugle. LOL

Talk to you soon

Steve

Mossyhorn:

Congrats on your two lottery tags!

I but the $50 package with 13 tickets and put them in for deer. Thought of it more as a donation but figured someone had to win. Figured the odds were astronomical to draw but you proved twice in one year that it can happen. It would be nice if they would publish the drawing stats.

Have a great time on your hunts and good luck drawing your controlled hunts!

Horniac

Mossyhorn,

You are very very lucky. That is awesome and I'm glad you're getting to go on some great hunts. Good luck with your controlled hunt draws. By the way can you send me some of your luck this way. I haven't drawn a tag in 15 years here in Idaho.

I was a cheap skate and only bought $80 bucks worth of tickets. Did anyone notice that it was cheaper to buy (2) sets of 6 tickets at $20 and one at $5 then to buy 13 at $50. Each would give you 13 chances. What was F&G thinking??

Later,
IB

LAST EDITED ON Jun-17-05 AT 03:30PM (MST)[p]Congrats on an amazing draw~!

I'll be darned....I think I grew up with one of the Taws in Marysville, CA...I'll have to put my feelers out to see. I sure would like to hear about that deer hunt too.

Congrats on drawing!

Anybody know how much money Idaho raises off of this.

Kind of a neat deal, I wonder if Utah would ever look at doing something similar. What's Idaho's SFW opinion on it?

As near as I could tell reading on another sites forum the Idaho SFW did not support the super tags. I really don't know why they wouldn't as it opens up opportunity for all sportsmen and sportswomen.

Anybody else know what SFW Idaho's stance is on this subject and program?

Can't imagine they'd be against a program that opens up private lands to the GENERAL public......

... by the way, anyone ever lookup how the sheep tags in this state are managed? Take a look at Idaho code, you will find that the department is selling them to the highest bidder today and is also getting into the supertag and increasing the "controlled hunt" business as well. Do you know how that "big tag" money is spent?... me neither. We just want transparency, not control... we pay the department for that.

Cheers, Marv
