Here are a few pictures of elk I've seen in the back of trucks this year. The first truck actually has 4 elk in the back. I couldn't get close enough to get a better shot. The second and third were in Rock Springs.

Here are pics of our trip home from New Mexico last week. It is fun to turn heads on a 12 hr drive when you have over 900 inches of elk antler on the trailer!!

I gotta admit, how fun is it to be driving on the highways and goose necking at every truck, camp trailor, atv traior, etc. I've had to many close calls to accidents cause I spend my time looking for Antlers on outfits coming and going.

Great time of year, thanks for sharing the pics.

Bingo now thats a loaded down rig!!!!Buckseeker i couldn't agree more.Looking at all the rigs with antlers helps ease the pain of a 19 hour drive.

I'm with Slam...it flippin kills me to see racks in the back of trucks...but what is annoying is to see the same rack in the same truck for a week or two during season. I like showing 'em off as much as the next guy, but after they start bleaching out it is time to take them out of the truck bed. Excellent post and thanks for the pics guys!

Ok, here's my attempt at putting my bull from last year in the back of my "truck."

And, I'm sure this one's made the rounds but I'd love to hear the story behind it because I think it's pretty d@mned funny:

Not sure I understand this one in the jeep. Whoever this is is just plain lazy or stupid. There is such a thing as quartering an animal up and boning the thing out. That pic is hilarious!!

Hands down the most truly classic animal on car picture. I loved the story from the guy who took that picture when it came out in Bugle magazine. But, I always wondered (1)why the hell they didn't just quarter and skin the bull?(as was mentioned above), (2) How did they get it on top of that Yugo?, and (3) Where in MT could you shoot a bull where you could drive a Yugo up to the carcass (besides the side of a road)?

Hey Eel!!!!

I had a big old Canadian Honker come back to life on me in the cab of my truck once, almost beat me clear to death flying around pecking the sh!t out of me while driving home late one night, i couldn't even imagine a big bull elk suddenly standing up in the back of your truck!
LMAO!!!!!!

Saw three guys from michigan with a 7X8 bull they had shot on the pahvant, the kid says he drew the tag with 2 points, anyways they tied it to the top of a fourrunner and said their driving back to michigan that way, wonder how many differant looks and waves they got.

Eel and Slam, you guys are killing me! I about killed my computer with the coffee spraying out of my nose when I read that goose story...

LMFAO in NM,

Cody

This I believe is going to be the new Nebraska State Record. A little over 400 I think.

How in the heck are all those guys getting them out whole?? Every one of my elk, and my buddies, comes out in pieces!

Mine just looks whole. In fact, I took rear quarters off and loaded the ribs, fronts and head together... two words - come along!

DC

1) Luck, shot him close to a road (ran closer to the road after I shot him)
2) not to far of a drag
3) 10 good hunting buddies to do the heavy liften.

I was actually surprised at how hard it was to put a whole elk in the back of my truck. It was me and my brother. He has a 4-wheeler with a winch, and I thought we could us it, and the ramps, to load the elk. He was parked near the front of the bed with the cable going through a makeshift bracket in the front stake hole, but as soon as the elk started up the ramps, the 4-wheeler started climbing the truck. Luckily 3 other guys showed up and helped us put it in the truck. Without their help we never would have got him in the truck in one piece.
Now I want to know, how did they get the elk in the back of that jeep.

Nice pictures everyone!! It took 5 guys to get both bulls in the back of that truck it was tough but the look we got from people as we drove down the road was well worth it.

Here's my 2006 Az archery bull.
