LAST EDITED ON Jun-20-05 AT 12:33PM (MST)[p]I drew a deer tag for this area and would like some guidance on outfitters to contact and outfitters to avoid. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

There two reviews of Sage & Pine on Huntinfo.com outfitter review page. Look under Nevada

strasdin is totally dishonest and a thief. i booked a hunt with him in 2003. outfitter tag . long story short, he never made to camp until 7am opening day!!!! he was totally disoriented and had no food in camp, the livestock wasn't saddled etc. he was to have met us (4 hunters) at 3pm the previous day.. needless to say , he'd spent our deposit. someday he'll get his due....

Super7

Interesting that you gave him such a glorious review the previous year and then such a bad one the third year you booked with him. I know Paul and his family and I have heard a little about this deal and I just think there must be more to the story.

Not trying to start anything or saying you aren't being truthful but I know them well enough to know there is more than one side to everything.

Navaluk, good luck on your hunt.

nvbighorn, if you want the whole truthful story just call me and i'll give the straight scoop. you are correct in that i had been with strasdin two times before, that's what made it so bad..

Navaluk...I would heed Super 7's advice and choose an outfitter other than Sage n Pine. I was there on the hunt that Super 7 booked with Sage n Pine and I was very ashamed at what took place and how it was handled by Sage n Pine. If you are looking for a quality hunt with a prepared and honest outfitter I would consider Perchetti or Stahl.

Was it made right by Sage & Pine or did 4 guys get taken to the cleaner. If S&P wasn't at fault then they should tell these guys to take a jump. I'm betting it some where in the middle.
If they paid good money and didn't get the service that was promised then S&P should be giving back said money. If the 4 guys didn't hold up their end then they should get zippo.

Strasdin did not return the $6000.00 deposit for the hunt. Not only a monetary hosing, but since these were outfitter tags, we could not hunt legally without him and we lost our bonus points as well. Needless to say avoid Strasdin like the plague....

i concur, nick or mustang. i know nick personally and can vouch for him. i know jim stahl but have never hunted with him or have i ever talked to anyone who has other than for mountain lions. have hunted arc dome myself three years ago. be prepared for some serious hiking if you don't have horses. it's mostly wilderness area so nothing else allowed.
