Here is the bull I shot this year on an any bull tag. It was a hard hunt in the beginning, not finding many elk. I passed up a 2 point bull the second day of the hunt. Every morning me and my dad would go before school and go to a high point and glass some flats. On the 2nd to the last day we finally found this bull. I didn't make it to school till around 1:00 which was a good thing. I made a 350 yard shot and dropped him in his tracks.

Sweet!! Good job on a great bull. You did what most guys never do in a lifetime. Keep up the tradition...and thank your dad for keeping you out of school getting a great education.

Nice bull. Congrats on a great hunt. I remember missing school to hunt with my dad. Those were some good times.

Congrats on a great Bull, I'll bet your the talk of town at your school, thanks for sharing your picks and story...

There's room for all of God's creatures, right next to the mashed taters and gravy.

Awesome Bull!! You learned more from the hunt that day then you will all year at school.. Congrat's and you better thank you dad again!!

That's awesome. COngradualtions on your bull.

"Easy now, keep the croshairs right behind his shoulder & squeeze the trigger"

That is a tremendous bull. You are a very fortunate young hunter and have already harvested a bull that is bigger than most many people will ever shoot in their lives. Congratulations and thanks for sharing with us here!

-Cody

Awesome Cody, way to hang in there and pass on the little ones.
You can't kill a 6x6 if you shoot a 2x2!!

What a great way to start out your hunting career!!

They killed it on public land. They scout hard all year long. They did it again, and they'll do it again. They are heading out to South Dakota on a whitetail hunt this week stay tuned for more pics from these boys. Congratulations and good luck Remington. -Redbuck

You know HJB you are the exact reason why I am leaving this forum for the better. You are judgemental and know nothing about the subject. The bull is on public land not private. It just worked out that it was in a large flat area where they had done a lot of hunting/scouting in years past. They put in their time and it payed off. Next time just don't be so jealous and be happy that a young hunter was able to score on a nice animal.

Too bad this young man has to have his story and his hunt questioned on here.

To the hunter: Don't be bothered by those who can't seem to accept a good thing for what it is. The bottom line is you paid your dues, and had a great hunt! Remember this experience, and keep in mind that sometimes you can't let school get in the way of your education!!

Hey man! I was just curious! I'm wayyy jealous that he shot that bull, and I'm glad that he scouted hard and was rewarded. I'm especially excited that a youngster got it, so lay off!

Is it a crime to ask if he shot it on public or private land? Getting a whole bull out is quite a task, so I was just asking.

If you are going to leave this forum, then leave! Quit whining and leave!!!

My hell, HJB, the bull was obviously killed on public land, you can tell that from the picture alone. Anybody that has ever hunted elk knows that on most units you can just drive right up to the bull lying in the middle of a tilled field. How dare you ask such an insensitive question? You have probably ruined the whole experience for that boy and he will probably just quit hunting altogether. Shame on you. I quit Monster Muleys.

Awesome bull, congrats!! I like the turned down browtine.

And don't you love that it all happened while your friends were in school...those were the days.

?Here?s to the hero's that Git-R-Done!!?

Cody,
Sorry if it seemed like I was questioning your bull, the fact is you killed a nice bull. It really doesn't matter where you killed it, it's a trophy either way. I got a little jealous and I apologize.
Congrats on the bull!

Hey young fella, Nice bull! Congrats on your hunt. That was a great day for ya, School? Well...Don't worry about it. You definitly got an education that day. I remember i'd go archery deer hunting with my dad and miss a day or two without reget. Those were the days.....for sure!

Congrats again!

Nice bull man! I think he questioned public vs private because of the fence in the back... maybe? Looks like he shot him on a newly graded dirt road.

First off guys I know I said I wasn't going to post any more after Jennifer's post on trying to find her dad's buck, but I can't help it. First let me tell you his name is Remington not Cody, and yes it is on public land with an any bull tag, and yes it is laying in the middle of an OLD two track road that hasn't been graded for years that's out in the middle of nowhere. Remington has already taken more great trophies than most of us will ever take in a lifetime, and that's not bragging for him, he's just been lucky to be able to go and do these things with me, and I wouldn't have it any other way. We put our time in like Jredbuck and ulta300 have said. Anybody that know's us know's how hard we scout and how hard we hunt doing what we love to do. Yup, he's on a road. We finally had that happen once.... Remington way to go Buddy, I love ya... DAD.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-29-08 AT 06:31PM (MST)[p]Hey guys thanks for the good comments. Thanks for sticking up for me uncle Bob and cousin John. It dont matter to me what people think about my bull because I know where I shot him and I know how hard we had to hunt, my dad and I went out almost every night and morning to try and get a bull and it ended up working. Im happy for anyone that kills something even if it is big or small. I think this is also my last post on Monster Muleys. I like seeing everyones pictures and reading their stories, but I, like others don't like the negative comments that some have to leave. Oh and HJB thanks for apologizing about that, I do appreciate the apology.
