"Never Enough Western Big Game" Vol 1 is OUT!

First off I'd like to thank everyone who helped out with this DVD. Several guys from MM helped out-THANKS!

To those of you who pre-ordered the DVD from right here on MM a special thanks for being patient. I hope that it was worth the wait.

It's a neat thing to reach a goal with the help of friends and family, and I've been blessed with the best of both!

Would love to hear what you think of it?

Thanks again guys! Paul Kendall

Yes, it will be available at Sportsman's Warehouse.

The Utah stores should have them on the wall by Saturday, and the others by mid week.

Monster Muleys has a good supply of them and started shipping yesterday.

They'll be available at other dealers throughout the intermountain west starting next week as well, and nationwide within a month.

Looking forward to some (good old monster muleys criticism-take it easy on me this is my first go) good feedback for numero dos!

Paul, Great job man!! I got the DVD yesterday and couldn't wait to see it, so I watched it immediately. It is by far the best video I have seen. I really feel like I got to know you in the video, with your commentary. You made it much more personal than the other videos I have seen. I really enjoyed how you disscussed the way the hunts went down. Man, there is just not enough great things I can say about it. I really enjoyed Jeff's(Deerking) work in it also. I think you did an outstanding job! Looking forward to Volume 2.
Great Job Man!!!
Dave
P.S. Great job in 2004! Those are some beautiful animals you took. Most guys would be happy with one of them in their life and you took three in one year! Congratulations!!

Just got mine in the mail today from MM.

Can't wait to watch it after hearing everyone's comments!

Real happy with what I have watched so far. The elk and the Mule Deer.
Music is good, quality of production is real good, camera angles and footage certainly isn't 'staged' or set-up.
I truely enjoy the sharing with your dad and his enthusiasm as a father.
Your excitement is sincere and honest not faked and not one huggy-dovey high five crap! ha
Ya miss a shot here and there and it is all in the footage!

That footage over your shoulder when that huge Colo. buck gets up and you put him back down is GREAT---- only Pam Atwoods Casull .454 pistol-buck has that good of over the shoulder harvest footage.

The sponsors footage was informative and I think the small dog food/water carrier would work great for my llamas with grain in it and water.

You got a hell of a challenge for your second DVD now!! haha

Just got my copy last evening. I'll be watching it sometime this weekend and I'll tell you what I think. Hope its good. Hunting season is coming and I need the priming. Kerry

Can't tell you how happy I am that you guys like it so far!

Going into this deal I had no idea how much work went into making a hunting DVD. I really gained a lot of respect for some of the other DVD producers out there.

We held onto several hunts for Vol 2-whitetail, Javelina, and a couple of elk and muleys. Filming for Vol 2 is well under way for the 2005 season. I'll try to get some pics on here from a recent scouting trip.

Thanks again for your remarks!

Here's a few pics from last night on the Book Cliffs. Saw some better bucks, but didn't get much footage of them. There's a TON of feed out there!

Got the DVD yesterday. Big thumbs up!
I've only watched it five times today. All the hunts were great! You'll have a loyal customer right here if you continue staying away from staged scenes. Can?t wait for DVD II. Antler Quest's bucks are just way TOO AWESOME!
:) :) :) :) :)
Thanks!

Paul,

Looks like you had the drawing luck with you last year. Great Job!

You asked for our opinions on the show. I would like to offer my opinion for what it is worth.

I think that the scenes were good, the hunting was good, the bucks and bulls were awesome. I liked most of the commentary. What I struggled with was the music.

I watch alot of these movies (hunting shows etc.) while sitting on the couch with the kids. I watch them alot early in the morning or late at night when others are asleep. The "heavy" or hardish metal music was too much for me. When I am in the mountains hunting, I expect peaceful and quiet anticipation. That kind of music is very hard for me to enjoy the peaceful mountains. I know that others will disagree and I may be by myself, but you asked for our opinions and I am willing to offer mine.

Much of the music was appropriate and done nicely. I just struggle with the "hardish" or "heavy" metal portions. My little kids didn't like it either.

Otherwise, really nice job! Good luck.

I just got mine as well and watched the same day. I think it is a great DVD. What a year you had last year! Congratulations. I hope I'm still tramping the hills with my sons when I reach your dad's age.

Respectfully, I have to agree with Firehawk, the ONLY thing that wasn't appealing to me was the heavy metal music. I suppose it's hard to please all tastes and I'm fast reaching Old Farts status so maybe its just me. But I love to watch those scenes with soothing more peaceful music. In fact, one of the traditions my son and I have when hunting is listening to old time cowboy music. He's come to love it along with all his other "music". :)

Congratulations on a great video. Looking forward to the next one.

Very very good DVD! For a first one its better than most guys who have made 3 or 4. Nicely done I enjoyed it. I'm older than most and although it wasn't my kind of music in spots I thought it fit in well with the uptempo feel of the DVD. Hard to please all ages i suppose. nice footage DK but gotta ask where are Godzilla and the Inline buck with the burrs on his head?

Music was one of the hardest parts of the whole thing. I'll admit it's faster and harder than most hunting DVDs. We actually toned it back a bit in parts. I guess there aren't many Metallica, White Zombie, Nine Inch Nails fans out there:) HAHA none of it's that hard.

There's gotta be a few G&R, White Snake, Damn Yankees, etc. guys in MM land. The intro song was done by a guy in Salt Lake and we wanted a bit of a Bon Jovi Young Guns feel to it.

Don't get me wrong, Chris Ledoux and Blackhawk are at the top of my hunting song lists!

The biggest thing with the music is trying to find some royalty free stuff that you haven't heard all over the Outdoor Channel, etc..... The custom songs are great, but a bit spendy when you pay the artist and then studio time. It's been a learning experience.......

I appreciate the feed back and will keep it in mind for Vol. 2.

Keep 'em coming!

LAST EDITED ON Jun-28-05 AT 06:50PM (MST)[p]Paul,
I really enjoyed the video a lot! It is well organized and flows nicely. What I liked best was the feeling of just a bunch of friends and family out hunting. I had the feeling that any of us would be welcome to join you! Plus you take some incredible animals.

I had never seen a 7x7 Antelope until now. (Dylan's scoring system...LOL) Incredible kill shot too.

The whole video came off as unrehearsed and very genuine. I will watch it many more times!

Steve

I kept looking for Brad Pitt, but I must have missed him! LOL

Great DVD, prism. After reading the comments here at MM, I ordered it and watched it last night. You even got a thumbs up from my wife on the video and she usually doesn't say much at all about hunt'n videos. And as always Deerkings stuff was just awesome.

Good luck on volume II

Very nicely done! Great dvd and all around western big game experience! I'll be recommending this one to all my friends. Can't wait till volume 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent!!!!

Prism:

Since everyone is offering their opinion, here is one vote in favor of the music. Though by no means am I necessarily a metal fan, the upbeat music does get me pumped up for the upcoming hunts inspiring me to train harder, hike further, shoot more, etc.

I guess it depends on the region you live in and what music you listened to in high school growing up and what you listen to now. I would guess that I have 99% of the elk/deer hunting videos/dvds made and it is nice to hear some original music rather than that same soundtrack that seems to be prevalent in some of the videos even though they are produced by different companies (though I do like it).

Thanks for an entertaining DVD and congratulations on your successful hunts and trophies!

Looking forward to your 2nd DVD.

Have a great 4th of July everyone!

Glad you guys like it so far. I'm excited for Vol. 2 as well. Not sure I'll have quite the same year, but I hope to film others dream seasons as they unfold.

Antlers are getting there, so it's time to log some serious time in the hills.

If any of you find something worth filming please shoot me a pm or email.

4x6, I sent you a pm about your DVD.

I'm thinking it's almost time to have another DVD giveaway game........

Thanks to all who have posted! Paul

How's the scouting season treating everyone?

Here's a couple of pics from the summer so far-nothing too special.

Filmed a couple of good bucks but nothing really great, but I haven't been out much. Gonna start hitting it hard now.

The first two pics were from tonight. It was a long ways off through the spotting scope.

This is one of the bucks at the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon. He's got a cool cheater. The deer down there sure don't look very healthy.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-25-05 AT 10:45PM (MST)[p]Just picked your vid at Sportsmans last Saturday - had round two with my son tonight(he's 2)!

I took the scene by scene approach my first time through..."honest honey.. I'm just going to watch a few hunts then I'll do the dishes"... an hour+ later I had watched each section.

Tonight my future huntin buddy and I ( he loves watchin elk/deer vids with me!) watched it start to finish.

Great footage - good "real" feel to the vid, and while I am a country fanatic - I liked the music and you did a great job of lining it up to the film.. but then again you can find Rob Zombie in my truck from time to time!

By my handle you know I'm an Elk fanatic. My favorite footage was of your hunt on that opening night bull (lucky dog!). Nice clean footage to see shot placement (shot two had to hurt that bull!) and the elation you exuded reminds me of my first branch antlered bull, but he was a raghorn North Slope bull, no 370 class bull!

Kudos on a great vid... you can count on me to buy up # 2!

.. and I am a bit partial to the name Paul.

BUL_KRZY,

Glad you like the DVD!

I'll be the first one to admit I got pretty dang lucky with that bull, and the two muleys last year. It was an amazing year, and I'll likely spend the rest of my life trying to repeat it. I have something to shoot for!

My first bull came off the North Slope too. It was a monster spike that I shot in a HELL HOLE. My dad wasn't too happy at the time, but looking back it was a lot of fun.

Things are starting to shape up for a pretty good season. I've got 3 pretty good deer tags, and an antelope tag for myself. And I've got plans to film some friends hunts.

Thanks again, and good luck on your hunts this year! Paul

Here's a couple of pics from the famed Paunsaugunt unit.

Wish I could say that I saw some monsters. I did see some quite a bit better than the buck in the pic though:)

Didn't have a lot of time, but snapped a few photos.

It's amazing how green it still is for this time of year. There's water everywhere, and the deer seem to be really spread out.

I just Want to say thank you to Paul....For giving providing this video and giving me a really really bad itch....I cant wait, archery deer opens in 21 days and counting.......

Kaffer62,

Sorry about that itch:)

I'm itching like crazy too. Only about a week until I can chase antelope around Wyoming with the bow.

Good luck on your hunts!

BTW-There's only one cure for the itch we've got, but baby wipes work wonders on the other hunters itch:) I'm sure there's some other remedies out there, but this may not be the right website to discuss!:)

The video was ok for a fist timer. The moose footage has already been played on outdoor channels, you shown JRs windmills, not a smart move if your leasing the place! Anyway, good luck in the hunting industry

Remember you can $hit the tourist but there is no $hitting skunk $hit
