Unit 58 elk in Wyoming

My buddy has an elk tag for Wyoming and is wondering if anyone could give him some starting spots to look at in unit 58 ? Any help??

I'd try to see if I could get an outfitter. There is a lot of private land there also. I wouldn't waste the tag if it was this late in the game and didn't know where to start. Just too good of a tag to waste.

Most of the ranches that have elk are in the Carter Mountain hunter management area, which you can hunt by getting a permission slip from the links below. I'd hunt the upper portion of the rim, which is the southern border of the unit or the upper part of Sage creek.
Don't shoot the first 300 bull. Good luck.

I hunted 58 a couple times but it was years ago.
I hunted the west side of Needle mountain.

Good bulls there, pray for snow.
