I came back to camp to find this litte fella in my grub box. I bailed from the truck...bowwwwwww bowwhoooooooo, and he promptly treed. My wife thought I had lost my mind. Then she refused to bring me my camera. My kids got to see their first bear. It ended up being a pest for the weekend, but I rather enjoyed the entertainment. The tree hugger down the way wasn't so excited. The bear really did a number on him, and he abandoned camp at about 5 in the morn.

Great pictures! Some added excitement for the whole family. Beautiful healthy looking bear.

That is a great looking bear must have been fun for your kids to be able to watch that.

IT was a good experience for my kids, and for my wife. My wife got to see how certain animals act. He circled us, and I said watch, as soon as he is downwind, he will come in. Sure enough, just like on a string. We were camped at Blackpine Lake up the Twisp River. I ran him off a couple times, acting like a dominant bear, paralleling him, heading him off. I was armed of course. He was around until a couple showed up with a lab the next day. It was enough to keep him out of sight. Sure had a pretty coat for this time of year. I'm sure he was a camp bear last year. This year, hes big enough to do some real damage. As soon as someone runs from him, and trains him, we'll be in trouble. I'm sure the game department will have to move him. THis is a popular enough of a spot.

Another month and you should go up there and take care of him. He would make a nice rug. Let me know if you don't want to, I might find the time to.
