HUNTING GOV TAG STYLE!

(Just Joking) Don't want to ruffle any feathers, just playing with all the rumors floating out there.

We threw the make-shift harness on there for fun. The bull is incredible. It's hard to not stop looking at him. We have been very sore from pinching ourselves as to our good luck.

This bull was taken in 2007 by Dion Laney with a bow.

This bull was a Limited entry area only known for 325 bulls. Surprise, Suprise. Look what walked into our calls. We never knew this bull was around or even existed. We saw him for the first time 2-5 seconds before he was shot. Thank Godness we got him. If Dion had missed, I'm sure there would have been group suicide in AZ last year.

I saw the story in Eastmans Bow Hunting journal,
seems like a great guy got a great bull! Congrats
Nice mount too.

Cap or mount is from the orginial bull. It was quite the skinning job. It looks great.

Tyler Anderson in Sandy did the mount and plans on putting him in the Cabelas Taxidery show this coming year.

Midnight- that bull is as good lookin mounted as he was in your pics and story. I can only imagine how sweet he must have looked on the hoof. My only question is where do you 'display' a mount like that?

Since he is nearly 9 feet tall and 4 inches from the floor up. You can imagine that he isn't going in the house. Right now it is wheeled in and out of the garage. Dion sewing machine has even made a cover made of cloth, as to protect it from the dust of a garage. It looks like a jousting horse fromt he medevil times. All and sewn by the grandpa sewer. :)

Dion did invite several friends and family over along with anyone that wanted to come by and see this bull last weekend before all the rain showed up. It was something Dion had planned for weeks.

With Dion's health condition, it seems to give him something to occupy his mind. It was fun to live the moment again with Dion. That my friends is worth every moment and penny. My four young boys talk about his grandpa and his big bull elk. Again, isn't that the perfect legacy. I consider ourselves very lucky in that category.

Dion is thrilled to have his bull at home. Tyler cut the antlers at the bases so they could be taken off and moved in and out of doors.

As bulls and bucks mounted will last longer than either Dion or I, Dion is of the same opinion that his son and I are... to place the bull out in the public to enjoy. We have talked to Gerald Olsen at Utah Archery Center and would like to start there as Gerald was the archery businessman that made me feel as a friend and set me up and Dion up with our equipment.

Dion has been in touch with others as to display him. The Bull is mobile and he makes for such a great story of hope for all public DIY bowhunters or rifle hunters, This bull shouldn't be displayed with just our private family. Dion will not sell it, he will only allow others to see it at a shop, store, or expo.

Another chapter has begun with this bull, " The Life after Life" for this bull. We look forward to events and meeting many of you elk hunters out there. Thanks for all your kind words. It makes sharing pleasant and fulfilling.

Good Luck, all you late season elk hunters.
