Me and a buddy drew for X9A this year and we are looking for a little help. I got some great information from the forums on Jesse's Hunting and Outdoors site..but as you all know, you can never receive enough advice or have enough knowledge when preparing for a hunt. Any information you have on hunting that zone would be much appreciated! Thanks.

Paul, thanks for the info. That is definitely one area that we will be scouting. Thanks again.

I hunted X9A a few years ago. We killed 1 buck above Grant lake on Parker Bench and another 1 above that on the back side of Mt. Wood. We saw alot of nice bucks and missed a dandy 1.

Gary, thanks for the info. Sounds like the Grant Lake area is promising. Thanks again.

Its a zoo opening weekend up on Parker/Grant Lake. I would go towards the end of the season ,you'll have the whole mountain to yourself. The Convict area is also good.

Be up as high as you can for the opener as the hunters push up toward the ridges they will move deer toward you, find a nice saddle that has a good trail running thru it and you should do all right.

Thanks Bunkhole and Gator. I appreciate you taking the time to give us some advice.

We're planning on being up there 9/22 - 10/2, unless this plan gets interupted by an AZ bull elk tag (yeah, right). When are you planning on going? Maybe I can let you in on what we found.

Actually, we'll probably be up there 9/20-9/28. I appreciate your offer. If we get to change the dates to the last couple weeks of the season, I'll give you a shout. Thanks again.

I went in 02, hunted hard, climbing every promising looking mountain to the top. All I can tell you is Nothing above Saddlebag Lake, Mojo Mt. and the hills east of Crowley Lake. I know of some other guys who hunt below Devils Post Pile and seem to have a honey hole there. Hole being the word it is nasty aparently.

Jerkee -
WOW. That gets my heart pounding. I can't wait to get up there. Would you mind telling me the general location within X9A where you took the video?}> I can't wait to show this to my buddy! Thanks so much.

Did you see many deer while you were there? Thanks again.

I spend about 3 days a week up there and we spot bucks every time. It's the good ones that are hard to find.
