Great NE Utah Buck

All this talk about 200" bucks got me inspired to share my big buck with you.

It was taken in Utah's (noted big buck) NE region back in the hay days of the unit.

After a summer of scouting I narrowed it down to this buck and a monster 1x2. Opening morning found me and my Nascar lovin buddies doing a little road hunting while listining to Larry the Cable Guy and a little bit a Janet Jackson here and there.

We were nearing the buck pasture when this guy ran across the road. I was hissing at my buddies to shut up so the buck wouldn't spook from them talking over "Rythm Nation."

I almost didn't make it far enough off the road to legally shoot, but luck was on my side as I made the amazing 53 yard shot.

All this before the guy in the truck behind us got out and started shooting at the already dead buck. We had quite the argument about who actually killed it.

I haven't had him officially scored yet, but the hunt will be in the next "Never Enough" DVD.

I'll have to show the amazing collection of sheds we've picked up off this buck and the 1x2, but I'll post those in the shed section.

I've been out scouting quite a bit and think I've found some of his offspring running around by Strawberry. Wish me luck for 2005.

Another angle that shows off his G2s. Just bummed that he didn't have eyeguards. :(

RE: WALL HANGER N.E. BUCK!!!

LMFAO!!!!! I think that there story may be true for some of the new newbies on this site. LOL!!!! Thanks for the laugh.

Yep, I almost won the big buck contest down at the Timberline hardware store, but some hardcore hunter coyoteeeeeed out on an 18" 3x3 and smoked him. Had to bone him out and pack him to the nearest ATV 1/2 mile away. Guess that's what it takes to get the reeeeeeaaaal big ones.

The game warden that checked him out was derrrrnnnn right pleased with him. Said the unit was comin back and had buck to doe ratios of 1 buck to 100 does. Said something about giving out 1000 doe tags to get the unit up to 2 bucks per 100 does, and then they was gonna charge a premium price to hunt the unit. "Best in the west," he says.

As good as it's gettin I figure next year I may not draw a tag. Then I'll be forced to purchase one at one of Don or Tony's banquets for $400. Worth every penny if you ask me:)

LAST EDITED ON Jul-02-05 AT 10:09PM (MST)[p]You're gonna have to forgive me for posting this shed in the muley section, but I feel it's important enough to warrant such actions.

As you can see from the shed, the buck grew by 4/16 of an inch the year I took him. The battle scared old worrior busted off his G2 in an amazing fight with moster spike (that'll be seen in the next DVD). Took me months of riding my ATV and motercycle all over hell and back (not to mention lots of sagebrush) around Fruitland to find this one side. I've all but givin up on finding the other side.

Maybe someone in MM land has it. I'd pay good money for it!!!!!!

Prism

LOOK AT THE AMAZING AMOUNT OF GROWTH FROM ONE YEAR TO THE NEXT!!!

THAT IS A BIG BUCK CONTESTANT FOR SURE!!!

THANKS FOR RUINING MY DREAMS FOR 2005!!!

THE ONLY bobcat THINKING ALL THE BIG BUCKS IN THE N.E. REGION ARE FOR SURELY GONE!!!

What a Hog!!

Where ya using mechanical expandable broadheads?? Did ya tip over the lawn chair in the bed of the truck to jumpout and get the shot??

Guys most probably got on the CB's and cell phones to get a good crowd over there for more shot chances!

Thats certainly a one of a kind brow-cape ya got there.......!!!

Definitely a 200 mm+ buck. Prism bring that slammer up across the border and we'll measure it metric style. Maybe if you're lucky they'll start a new MMMM.com.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-03-05 AT 09:43AM (MST)[p]Not so fast Bobcat. I think Prism did the right thing putting this great trophy down. He probably would have never made it through the winter. What a waste to let a buck like this go to waste. A buck of this caliber probably had many a war wound and was probably suffering. On a better note as far as your dreams. I hear of a blind drop tine spike that has good potential. He lives along the road in Wolf Basin!! Ya ought to be able to recognize him easy!! He only has 3 legs. Prism are u going to find a cape of a fawn so u can do a head mount???
I bet Prism is one happy camper!!! We won't here the end of this for years. This buck will probably make the cover of Walt Disney?s BAMBI KILLERS

WOW! what an awesome buck!!! When you killed him, he was going down hill for sure..He lost alot of Mass from the the year he dropped that shed. I just cant believe I never heard about that buck. You would think a buck like that would be on Doug Miller.

(btw, I just watched your dvd. Very Very Very well done.. One of my favorites for sure) I will also have to send you a PM telling you who told me I should buy it.

I think I passed on that buck a few years ago. Every time I do that, someone is right behind me and puts 'em down. If I'd have know it was really that big...

While everyone knows Utah is the Shzit, check out this monster buck I killed in 03 up here in Canada. Betcha you don't see MASS like this in Utah.

DaleJr,
Just want you to know, I hit the alert button on that post of yours. It's one thing to be an arse calling me out it is totally another thing to accuse a very respectable member with poaching. I requested that they nuke ya. Hope the mods do.

oh no please dont, I really like it here. when i get lucky enough to finally take one nice buck, then i can be like you BC.

You can talk trash all you want about me, I couldn't give a rat's a$$. Many wannabe's have come and gone off this site, you're just one of many many. I was having fun toying with ya. Kept me from getting bored this rainy weekend. But this post about you slamming another member was WAY over the line. You will be gone soon enough.

Ok, I have to chim in. I am callin BS. There is no way that buck makes the 200 club mabe 197-198 5/8 no more. I have footage of that buck that my brothers sisters cousins moms dads brother-in- law shot of that guy on the side of the freeway. They said he was running with a big doe and 2 small does. I sure hope he passed on those genetics before he died. We sure could use more like him.

Great post Prism.

That big old black 2 pointer is quite the old porker.

I'll be out pounding the hills for bambis soon enough. Infact, we're taken the whole famdamily out for a regular old Utard family reunion next weekend. It will be a camp big enough to give the rainbow coalition some serious competition for numbers of crappers and deposits made.

Just got the news that the Forest Service has shut down more roads in the NE to ATV use. Which is good and bad.

I've always wondered why they (the Forest Service) make these old rocky, rattle your teeth roads nice enough to take a Honda Accord on. Then they throw up a couple of crappers, a nice wooden rail and then you have to pay to park in the same spot you been parkin for years, but now you're sharing the mountain with anyone with a car.

Next thing we know, we'll only be allowed to camp in designated campgrounds that charge.

Sorry for the digression.

It's called asymetrical antipathy.....

The monster 2 point was my first deer. Killed him when I was 14 out in the Strawberry Valley, when the road was still rough.......
