Pennock Mtn

Anyone scouting Pennock Mtn in WY Region D? That is one of 3 areas I am looking at for deer season. I don't need any honey hole information, just general info about what to expect. I have never hunted it. How much pressure will it get? Can a guy get far enough away from the roads to loose the crowds? Any info is greatly appreciated.

That area does recieve moderate pressure, but many never venture more than a 1/2 mile off the road. I would start my search at the mid to lower levels. Be careful though, there is private land on the lower elevations. I think there is a "roadless area" that the forest service has closed off in the area. Might be a good place to start.

Thanks for the info. It was my understanding that there was only one road up the mtn. Do you mean that it is closed off too? It was my understanding that you followed a county road thru BLM and state lands onto the NF. That is just my understanding as I have not hunted here.
