Drew the early season unit 101-108, non-resident. I have not hunted this area and in reading previous forum posts understand access can be difficult and hunting conditions crowded. I'm wondering if there are any outfitters or private property hunts that could be recommended for the area? I'm just starting my research so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

HRB, drop Wes a pm. He's a regular here on MM and has the exclusive guiding rights to the heart of the Ruby's. Do a search of his posts and you'll see some great photos of the area.

I would call Walt Gardner, or Mitch or Tony Buzzetti.
The area Hidden lake outfitters guides is good, but they
never seem to kill really big bucks. Walt is out there
all year, and is a very good guy, he will work a lot harder
than most to get you what your after.

NVMDF,
Thanks for the reference. Do you have a telephone number or email address for Walt or the Buzzettis? Thanks much.

I have hunted with Wes and George of Elko Guide service LLC (775-738-6077) a few times. They are very knowledgeable of the area and good guys. It is a start for you.

Good luck

Huntnup,
I talked to Wes yesterday and he sounded like a nice guy. On your hunts with Elko Guide Service, what kind of success did you have? My objective is to book a hunt with an outfitter where you have a reasonable chance at a representative trophy buck (25"+) for the area. In talking to Wes, last year they killed some fairly good bucks for the area (24" - 28"). He also indicated that they also saw bigger bucks that they were not able to kill. It sounds promising. If you have any further information please PM me or post up. Thanks much for all your help. This forum has been extremely helpful!

For info on : Walt Gardner 775-779-2201 w/Secret Pass Outfitters
and for Mitch Buzzetti 775-738-4082 w/Nevada High Country Outfitters.

Wes is a regular on here and have talked with him and a great fella as well and good area.

Good luck on your hunt, just might run into you too since drew the same tag.
