Taxidermists in Reno

Hi, I have an archery hunt north of Reno starting in a couple weeks.

There is new legislation on CWD in California, where I live and will be coming from and I understand I cannot bring the brains and/or spine http://www.dfg.ca.gov/news/issues/cwd_faq.html

I must have been living in a cave, or has this all about CWD and new CA legislation been hit around pretty hard and everyone now knows?

So, any recommendations on Taxidermists around Reno?

Thanks
Bill

I got my sheep mounted at Boyce's studio, Animal Artistry. They are a bit pricey, but they did great work and I had him back in just under 6 months. Heard a few stories of other places in the Reno area that take 18 months.

Bill from SD,

This regulation from good old CA has been in effect for at least three years maybe longer, just don't remember.

By all means, go to Mike Boyce's place it is real close to the Reno Airport.

From Shoulder Mounts to Diaramas.
Ethical.

What ever you do don't go to Kennedys. Good taxiderm (used to work for Boyce) but went to the dark side. Don't know if he is even in business anymore.

from the "Heartland of Wyoming"

Kevin Libby does quality work and is a quality guy.

Went to the dark side? You mean he's a Democrat now?

I don't have any of him mounted, and I do not have a digital so it could be a few weeks or so.

First off,
Reno has probably the highest priced taxidermy market in the country.
Animal Artistry is unreal, some of the world's biggest trophy animals come through Mike Boyce's doors.
Here are a few of the better guy's in Reno (I'm real fussy)

Thanks everyone,Harry do you have Kevin Libby's phone number and HH?

Also, what would you figure a velvet mule deer head mount would run? Or what would be the price range?
Thanks
Bill

Greg Koehl in Lemon Valley just a little North of Reno did my ram . Did a great job .

Animal Artistry is worth just stopping by to check out the mounts .

Kilowatt you used to be able to bring in a head as long as it was on it's way to a taxidermist but this year it's a no no .

Hey, bill What about your LOCAL taxidermist! you can learn to cape the buck and bring it back to california? we should not forget your locl guy ... there alot of taxidermist out there good and bad... also you can keep a eye your local one ! don't we spend enough money in other states? besides if you want a local taxidermist to stay in business, you need to bring it to him ( providing the quality is good). caping is easy once you learn the tricks , besides it could help pack your animal out... good luck hunting
