Anybody get the latest issue? I hear there's a Wyoming Toad on the cover, and I haven't gotten mine yet.....

I'll take four hours of no answers as a clue that the Aug. issue isn't out yet?

I renewed my subscription back on June 7th and was suppose to get a DVD along with the renewal. As of today nothing in mail yet, no Mag or DVD. Not the first time that EJ has screwed up on my subscription either.

Brian

I haven't got my Aug. issue yet. But they are usually on time.

When I did my renewal, I called finally after like 2 weeks and they send out the free DVD when they get a certain number to send out. It did come and no problem since....

Anybody we know get that toad on the cover?? hehe

Hey Paul,

I'm not even a subscriber and I got an issue. I guess I'll have to renew it.
Dave Long is a stud!! What some awesome bucks he's taken the last couple years. That Wyoming buck on the cover is a beast!!

Got mine yesterday. 100% public land DIY hunts. The cover buck shot by Long grosses around 238". Quite a pig and a good story to go along with it.

I haven't received my Issue yet, but if David Long's Buck from last year is on there, then that is good. He sent me a picture last fall right after he got it and asked me NOT to post it as it would be in Eastman's later.
It took EJ long enough to show everyone.

Congrats to a swell guy and very deserving of the front cover if it is the same picture that he sent me.
Come on Post Office, deliver my Mag.

Brian

Man now I'm all pumped up and my mag won't show for another week or so I bet. Seems like I never get mine till the 7th or 10th. Maybe it'll get here earlier, sounds like a sweet issue.

I think Dave and BS need to get together and make another video....whatta ya'll think? Can't wait to get my mag.

Ditto on the video thing, but I don't think we'll see another one-hope I'm wrong! Their last one is among my favorite. Wish my freaking issue would get here!

I second the video, Dave's are among the best, when I'm working out either I or III is in the VCR, they are good.

If this is the buck, it was killed by Eastman's son down in the SE corner of Wyoming. I have a G&F buddy who actually checked the buck at the road check station. They had the entire buck packed with bags of ice in the back of a truck in order to get it to the taxidermist for a full mount. It was scored at a litle over 238" at the time.

Sorry about that, thought I got the picture attached. Here it is.

Finally got my issue. All I can say about David's buck is WOW. It's all I pictured and more. Haven't gotten around to reading much, but it looks like a great issue.

BK,

This picture you posted is of Eastmans son, it is not the person which this discussion is about, namely David Long of Magnum Mulies.
Thanks for the post anyway of Guy's BUCK.

Brian

I should have read this post first. I also renewed my subscription and bought the 5 dollar MULE DEER dvd as well, however that was like a month ago. I called them on the 22nd of july and they said they shipped it on the 21st so I should get it soon, well it is the 3rd now. I called again on the 2nd and they said since I did'nt have it they would send another one to me and if I get 2 I can give one to a friend, then she said something about 3rd class mail- what the hell is that- it should'nt take that long to get from wy to az even if they sent it by burro- lol. got the mag though- nice deer

My issue came a couple of days ago and I am foaming at the mouth like a rabid north Georgis skunk to have an opportunity on a brute like Dave Long harvested. Wonderful story and great bucks. May you all get your EJ magazines real soon!

I second that muleycrazy, I'm in WA and it seems to take forever to get my mag, after the last Bowhunting Journal I was pumped for the high country hunts big time.

Well here is the picture that David sent me about 9 months ago and have kept this to myself till now.
David I hope that you don't mind me posting now since it is already in Eastman's.
Enjoy everyone it sure is a Brute.

What a freakin' stud....the freakin' buck is too! David is my freakin' idol! :) That guy shoots some awesome deer....always like to look for his story in the Eastmans'. Thanks for posting the pic....I'm in ridgerunners boat, takes for ever.

I assume I am not the only one looking forward to David's book!? Unfortunately, it appears we will have to wait until the fall of 2006!?

Theodore Roosevelt once said, "The nation behaves well if it treats the natural resources as assets which it must turn over to the next generation, INCREASED and NOT IMPAIRED in value."

Is DAvid doing a high country hunting book or an update to his Wyoming Mule deer buck? Either one would be awesome.

David has been working on a Second Edition of "Wyoming's Finest Muley Deer".
When he is done, we will know about it that's for sure.

Brian

my dvd is finally here- yee ha !! whats the deal about a volume 2 of some book, never heard of volume one ?
M WAITE, AZ.

FYI,

Received an e-mail tonight from David Long and he told me that he has been writing a new book titled "Pubic Land Mulies- The whole Truth" and will be published by Eastmans and hopefully have it available by this Christmas, if not, then early 2006.

Said too that they have been dragging their feet with the 2nd Edition of Wyoming's Finest Mule Deer, but hope to wrap that up this winter too. So good chance that both books will be available in early 2006.

Brian

I've got mine and there is a BRUTE. Mass, Mass, and More Mass! It's another great issue with plenty of "DIY".....

Thanks guys for all of the positive comments on my 2004 WY buck. I have been very fortunate over the past couple years. It's hard to believe that deer season is only a month away already. My youngest daughter just turned 12 and I will be taking her deer hunting this year. She has informed me that she wants to kill a buck bigger than all of the boys in her class. I guess I had better get busy finding her a buck.

Best of luck hunting this fall,

David Long

David.....any chances of you makin' a Magnum 4?? I know it's tough enough huntin' those bucks up there let alone filmin' it too. Loved they way 3 was put together. After reading your stories it puts another perspective on what it takes to hunt up there. Congrats on your buck and lookin' forward to your Book!

Muleyslyr,

Zero chance on another video. I don't miss packing that camera around at all. The reason I got out of it was because it was taking the fun out of hunting for me. Now that I am not carrying the video camera, I enjoy my hunting trips a lot more.

What a buck! Finally got my issue today and I quickly thumbed through it until I found the story. Awesome...good job David.

David,
Congrats on yet another Whopper of a buck!!!! Way to go!!!! I'll definately make sure I pick up a copy of Eastmans the next time I'm in town so I can read the story. :)

Kudos to Eastmans HJ! It just keeps getting better.

Great bucks Dave. I'm looking forward to getting hold of your book when it comes out.
