Utah Archery Hunt!!!

Well fellas it's almost here! I just wanted to say good luck to all of you that have tags this year. I hope you have a great hunt. Hopefully we'll at least get to see some dandy bucks. Maybe if we're lucky a couple of us might even end up nailing one down? I can't wait to see some pictures after this weekend.

This is the first year in looooong time I wont be out with my bow this weekend (I will still be out there though) so PLEASE take a lot of pics, I need to live my bowhunt through you this year!!!

Anyone back yet? I was out this weekend and only saw 4 hunters (road hunting). I didn't have a tag, so I wasn't trying real hard to find deer, but I only saw a few does.

I got a 3 point opening day, Central unit. Missed a 24" 3 point earlier in the day.

I shot a little fork horn on Sunday afternoon. I have never seen as many hunters out as I did this year.

I went out with a good buddy of mine (wideone here on MM) and man did we have a great time. We saw a total of around 30 bucks including a couple that would go around 170 or so. In 2 days we never saw one other hunter. Good bucks and a good buddy. What a great weekend. Thanks for taking the time to go up and hunt with me Wideone. Even without a tag he was more than willing to pack up in and glass the country in search of the big boys. Although we didn't end up finding exactly the type of buck we were searching for it was one of the best hunts I've ever been on. What a pal. I can't wait to get up there and do it again.

Alright Muleyslyr. Here are a couple not very good pictures for ya. I couldn't seem to get the one buck to hold still and all of my pictures of him turned out blurry.

These are 3 of the better bucks we saw.

Sorry about the blurry picture. He just wouldn't hold still for nothing!

I hope you can all see the buck in this picture. Not the little 3pt on the left but the 4pt on the right. This buck had my attention! Wideone and I watched him sleep for quite a while but being the first year of my dedicated hunter program and the opening day of the archery hunt I figured I'd hold off and see what the future might have in store for us. Probably tag soup but I'll eat it if I have to.

Atta boy....that's what we're lookin' for, I knew you had your camera with you.

You might have to go back and see if you can't get a little closer to that 4pt....looks pretty good thru the trees.

Looks just like I remember them!! I had a great time too..(besides the mosquito bait I turned into) Hopefully we can find something a little bigger next time.

It's funny how everyone's perspective is different. You guys are talking about hoping to find something bigger. I'd gladly take any of the bucks in those pics!

Thanks for sharing. I love bucks in the velvet... especially nice ones like those. Good Luck with your hunt, and keep us posted on how it turns out. Even if you eat tag soup, keep the pics coming. They do all the rest of us some much needed good.
