AWESOME!!!! That's the way to start the season. WOW!!!! What a buck!!! It is going to make these next 2 weeks even longer after seeing that. :)

That sure gets the blood pumping! Randy seems to have it figured out thats for sure. Awesome Buck!!!! Love this time of year!

Did Randy buy a landowner tag? I checked the results list to see what unit he hunted in and he was unsucessfull for everything in the main draw.

I don't have anything against Randy but have one question. I assume he is buying landowner tags or something to be hunting up there every year. This makes 3 big bucks in as many years. Same with Elk.

Archer

It's all about the Benjamins. Wonder what we could do with the green that guy is spending on tags and spotters. Great buck though.

DeanX, I'm not sure if you ment to take anything away from Randy's buck or how he got it....But remember he's not pulling up in his caddy and taking an 800 yard shot.. This guy works his ass off hunting, and shooting...even if someone did find this buck for him I'm sure he made a tuff stalk on a smart old buck, and drilled him...myself even if I found that buck my knee's would be so weak and my heart beating so fast I'd probably miss...

Awesome dandy buck. Who cares if he paid a pricetag to hunt this buck, as long as it was "fair chase", good for him.

Great buck Randy and Gregg. You guys certainly have Nevada wired. Not bad for some Arizona boys, keep up the good work!

That's one of the tallest bucks I've ever seen! And a 30"+ Rack! And MASS to boot! What a buck! Congrats to the guy...

Michael~All Gods creatures welcome... right next to the mashed potatoes and gravy.

I wish Cass would pipe up and tell us where he killed it.

I'LL BET HE'S SEEN SOME BIG BULLS AND IS SHOPPING FOR A L.O.TAG.
THERES PROBABLY QUITE A FEW 400+ BULLS DUE TO GOOD FEED!
GOOD LUCK!

P.M. ME IF I'M RIGHT

HOW ABOUT IT c'ASS!!!

CAN YOU TOP THIS BUCK???

IF YOU CAN I'M COMING DOWN TO THE STRIP,NO NOT THE VEGAS STRIP EITHER!!!

THE ONLY bobcat WONDERING???

I can top him. It might take hurt me a little bit as far as my lifestyle goes. I'd have to quit my job, scout non-stop for the next 2 months and drop one of those wasatch monsters. Gonna happen? I don't think so, That is one narley buck though. Utah just wasn't too good to me this year so far. Very Dissapointing to say the least.

Not only is he a great hunter he can shoot a bow better than most can shoot a rifle. WHAT A HOG.........

ANY TUNE-UPS NEEDED ON THAT MOUNTAIN RANGE???

I LIKE HUNTIN STORIES SO FIRE AWAY!!!

THE ONLY bobcat WAITING!!!

Deer were few and far between. The water situation was incredible, more water then I have seen in 10 years on the mountain and all i could find were small and mediocre bucks. Monday afternoon I spotted a decent buck, about a 27" 4x4 bedded across the canyon under a mahogany about 50 yards below the ridge. So i jumped on my quad and hauled ass down one canyon, across the bottom of pole canyon, and parked at the bottom of the mountain. Took me an hour and a half to sneak up to the ridge where he was bedded. Once I got up to him to make a long story short I missed and that was that. I couldn't figure out what was goin on on Monroe. No one was seeing anything like the years past. I hiked more then I ever have, even back to ponds where I know NO one goes to and couldn't find a track. Now, As for elk. Holy god I sware if I see one more elk i'm going to shoot it, and tag it with my deer tag. I have seen enough elk in the first 4 days of my hunt to last me 365 more days. I ran into everything. Cows, 4 Monster bulls, spikes, 1 Monstrous 5 pnt, probably pushing the 380 mark. a 6pnt with a HUGE 1 side and the other side was snapped off about 8 inches off the skull. Offered my services to a local who had an archery Elk tag for monroe but he refused and said he had a 380 bull scouted over by box creek. Elk I'd say I ran into at least 50+ head. Deer, probably only saw, maybe 60 head. Total. Tune ups... Hmm yea come and tune up the local ##### head that totally demolished my old mans hunt by driving back and forth past his blind and the pond he had been watching. I'd really love to tune up his freakin quad!

c'ASS

ANY BUGLING GOING ON???

HAVE YOU TOLD YOUR DAD WHAT A UTAH TUNE-UP CONSISTS OF???

WHAT DO YOU FIGURE THE BULLS YOU SEEN WOULD SCORE???

THE ONLY bobcat HOPEING TO SEE BLOODY PICTURES FROM c'ASS,ARE YOU GOING BACK???

I only had 3 elk bugle back to me. One of them was really fired up, He kept running in and screaming and then running back to his draw, then i'd cow call him back out and he'd come running and screaming. That's what my first two mornings concisted of. My dad knows exactly what Utah Tune ups are, that's why I threw the wrenches in his box on his quad, just incase.
Well the first morning I ran into two bulls, I figured off of what I saw they were 370 class 6pnts. The next morning I came across a Monster 5x5 running with a 6x8"s. This 5x5 was sitting in a meadow at (ranged) 137 yards. This was probably the biggest 5x5 I have ever seen, I guessed his score would be 375 easy. What boggled me what the 6x8" he was running with. One of the largest 6pnts I have ever seen on 1 side, and it was snapped off about 8"s after the skull. Those were the big bulls I ran into. I ran into a few spikes and a ton of sattelites.
I'm coming back to monroe in about 2 weeks (hopefully) if everything goes according to plan at work. I'll be up there for a week. Plus I gotta take the video camera to show the people around here what Real Monroe Monsters are ;)

I hate quads, be that as it may.

This is a great buck one of dreams I bet he didnt use a quad, wait back on track.

Randy Ulmer Congrats!

Randy is the best bow hunter out there, and I know because we have hunted many times. If he is hunting it is not on a quad or in a stand it is in the toughest place there is most of the time.Four years back he drew a sheep tag in Nv and it was a very tough hunt but he shot a very nice ram.The next year he drew a archery tag in Nv and we saw some real brutes and some great bulls.he shot a great buck.He drew the same tag the next year and shot another great buck.He is the Lance Armstrong of bow hunting, this guy can run up mountains as fast as you can ride a horse. It does not matter what bow he uses because he can shoot it better than a machine.Randy and his baby brother Rusty will be elk hunting this weekend in Nv,in the same unit another buddy of mine has a tag. There are a few super pigs there this year. One of these boys will take a bull that dreams are made of.Randy as always your are my hero, see ya bro Cal.

That's not a deer, That's an ELK!! or fake. heh heh. So big it looks fake. Maybe he's on steroids? Pass me a clean pair of shorts please.

come on at least tell us what area!!!!!! i'm a resident, so i won't be able to draw a tag anyway.

I was checking the tag results and found that Randy Ulmer was unsuccessful for mule deer this year.

I guess this must be a Land owner tag or something?

AS SAID BEFORE I BELIEVE IT WAS A L.O. TAG FROM NV 231.(not confirmed)
I SAW THAT BUCK WHEN I WAS SCOUTING FOR ELK.
UNLESS HE HAS A TWIN!!???
COME-ON NOV 1ST

Nah I've never seen anything like that in Nevada.
And from my checking out, He didn't draw that permit. From what I just looked up on NDOW he was unsuccessful in everything he applied for. Maybe it is a L.O tag. I don't care what kinda tag that this, That's one of the most extremely tremendous bucks I've ever seen in Nevada. Congrats are truely in Order.

HAVEN'T SCOUTED W/CASS, BUT DO APPRECIATE HIS INPUT ON NV231, AS WE HAVE 2 BULL TAGS TO FILL THERE.
AS FOR THE MONSTER ON THIS THREAD I STILL BELIEVE IT CAME OUT OF 231, I THINK MR ULMER IS LOOKING FOR A L.O. TAG FOR A BULL ALSO!
WORD IS THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL SPOTTED THAT WILL SCORE 400+,
IF ITS COMING FROM HIM I BELIEVE IT!

CASS,
ANY MORE INFO ON 231 IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED! I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SCOUT AGAIN UNTILL LATE OCT AND THEN IT WILL BE LIMITED AS I DON'T WANT TO SCREW UP SOMEONE ELSES HUNT.
THANKS

B_F_E_

YOU SHOULD ALREADY KNOW I DON'T GO INTO ROOMS WITH STRANGERS!!!

YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL FIND IN THE TOOL BOX!!!

YA SEE,c'ASS HAS BEEN BEING REAL GOOD HERE LATELY,HE HASN'T THREATENED TO WHOOP MY ASS FOR SEVERAL MONTHS!!!

I THINK THAT VACATION WAS WELL NEEDED & DONE HIM GOOD???

AND THEN TO HAVE HIM ADMIT THIS BUCK IS BIGGER THAN THAT MONSTER NV BUCK HE TALKS ABOUT YOU KNOW HE'S GROWING UP!!!

BY THE WAY B_F_E_,WITH ALL THE VACATIONS & HONEYDO'S YOU'VE DONE THIS YEAR,HOW MANY MONTHS OF HUNTING IS MRS. B_F_E_ LETTING YOU DO???

THE ONLY bobcat A LITTLE LEARY OF GETTING A ROOM IN VEGAS,WE HAD A LOCAL WAKE UP ONLY TO DISCOVER HE WAS MISSING A KIDNEY,YOU HEARD OF THIS c'ASS???

Truthfully, I've only seen 1 non-typical Muley in Nevada. He wasn't very big either that's why I passed on him. He was a 6x5 that was only about 20"s wide. This buck is tremendous. I'm going to call a couple buddies of mine to see if maybe they know where it came from because I sure would like to find his offspring next year.
As for the bulls in 23, I know where a few Great bulls hangout but like I've stated before I mostly stay on the other side of the highway.
As for the kidney, Nope never heard of that Bobcat. But I have a picture of a buddys buck shot opening day in S. Utah. 29" 4x4. Probably a 165-170 buck. I just have to wait for him to email me more pictures because I haven't got a scanner. Really pretty buck.

-Cass

Don't ever under estimate Randy Ulmer. He's not stupid enough to blab out where he shot this buck and I wouldn't either. He hunted this buck for four days until everything was just right. Randy is one of this sports best personalities. He is as good as they come. I know him personally and he is a man of integrity. Bucks like this don't just fall into your lap even if you can afford to buy a tag. A tag only allows you the opportunity to hunt the rest is up to you. I was in Nevada at the same time and saw a few good nontypicals and some excellent typicals.

Excellent post Camo.
Everything you stated is probably why he IS part of Hoyts Bowhunting Pro Staff.
Accomplishments like those he has achieved can be followed by nothing less then a great congrats to Randy Ulmer on an Excellent hunt, And one HELL of a buck!

-Cass

Incredible!

Congrats to everyone involved with the hunt. Especially the hunter.

Without a doubt Randy is likely the best bowhunter of our time, and a great guy too.

Can't wait to read the story of the hunt!

Or better yet some footage? Anyone know if the hunt was filmed at all?

YEP, I'M NOT AS DUMB AS MY WIFE THINKS.

I'D LIKE TO GET ON ONE OF THE ELK HE'S SEEN IN 231!!!

NVHUNTERER
COME ON NOV 1ST
