Camp Williams Buck Killed?

I just heard that the General may of been taken with a bow. Anyone else here this. Also heard that he is a 10X11 this year. I'm trying to get ahold of the father of the hunter so I can go take a look. If I get ahold of them I'll take some pics and post them.

I heard he was hit by a car last fall. I hope I heard wrong. He needs to be on someones wall, I was hoping mine. I live 3 miles from Camp Williams. He was sure a dandy to look at on the way home from work.

Look for the story and video on KUTV channel 2 on Friday at 4:00pm. Outdoor editor Reece Stein will have the story. He tells me that the general is a 11X13 actually, not real heavy but still a very impressive buck. Congratulations to the hunter. I have his name but I'll wait for Reece to tell you guys the rest of the story. Does anyone have any live video of the General? Would love to add some live video to Reece's story if possible? let me know. Thanks,

It's true...at least that's my info as of this evening. I know the guy quite well and he deserves a great buck like that. I'd share what I know, but I'm unsure of some of the details and their accuracy. Until I speak with him, I don't want to spread any misleading info. I'm trying to get a pic or two myself also.

I saw it on Channel 4 news I beleive - it was in velvet.

I would say its an awesome buck - more so for its matching cheaters and overall classic look than for mass or inside width.

Truly a buck of a lifetime. They said the guy with the Govners tag last year paid 80 Grand and tried for this buck and never got it.

This guy got it on a regular archery tag.

Thanks fstop. I tried your number and got no answer so I called Reece. He is meeting me later on to dub off some of the footage I have and is going to use it in his story tomorrow. I hope I can sneek out of work a bit early and check it out.

Like was mentioned above. I'm glad to see an average joe took him. Much better than getting hit by a car or?

WOW !!! Being a co worker with Reece Stein I got a sneek peek at the video and the hunter. All I have to say is. If you crawl that far, and your able to get within range to make a shot. Then you deserve a buck like that in my book! I wouldn't worry about mass,width,length or even a gross or net score. It's just a tremendous Buck.

A buddy of mine from Camp Williams sent me pics of the buck this morning. It is definately a hawg. I don't know anyone in the pictures so I wont post the pics, I don't want to take the lucky dogs thunder from him. His buck, he can post them if he wants.

For those who are interested in seeing the story and were not able to catch the 4:00 news on Friday you can go to http://kutv.com/sports. Then under the video section (right side of the page) find the one with a picture of the buck. Just click on it and it should show you the story. It's the majority of what was aired last week I beleive.
