EVERY YEAR AT THIS TIME I READ A POST FROM SOMEBODY WHO WANTS TO SIT AND FEEL BAD FOR THEMSELVES. I GUESS THIS YEAR I AM CALLING OUT BCHARRYBALLSBOY. I READ HIS RESPONSE TO UTAH PUBLIC LAND AND WAS AMAZED. ITS AMAZING TO ME HOW ARCHERY HUNTERS ARE NO GOOD, MUZZLELOADERS TAKE 300 YARD SHOTS AND THERE IS NOTHING LEFT OUT FEEDING BROADSIDE FOR THE POOR RIFLE HUNTERS. DON'T GET ME WRONG, I RIFLE HUNT, BOW HUNT AND HUNT WITH SMOKEPOLE AND ITS ALL ON PUBLIC LAND.(I HAVE ACCESS TO PRIVATE LAND AND STILL PREFER PUBLIC). ITS THE DEEP DARK CANYONS THAT GET ME AWAY FROM PEOPLE LIKE BCHARRYBALLSBOY AND MAKE HUNTING GOOD. NOT TO MENTION THEY PRODUCE GREAT BUCKS AND BULLS WITH WORK. ITS NOT HUNTING WHEN YOU SHOOT FROM YOUR CAR, ITS KILLING. SO TO THOSE OF YOU WHO WANT TROPHY BUCKS AND BULLS THE EASY WAY EITHER BUY A TAG ON A FENCED RANCH OR HANG UP HUNTING AND TAKE UP HORSESHOES. TO THOSE OF YOU WHO GO MOUNTAIN AFTER MOUNTAIN, CANYON AFTER CANYON GOOD LUCK AND BEST WISHES.

AMEN brother ! four wheelers are a tool, not a means!you get in and walk another 6 miles .... I can't believe the people that ride fourwheelers anywhere during archery season... just last weekend I was stalking a bear and a huge three pointer in the same clear cut , and them some @$#holes started riding on skid roads that a cat made five years ago.. so I left the area and harvested a smaller three pointer else where... what can you do ? great comment bud .... jakstr

i agree. i hate everyone. bowhunters, rifle hunters, muzzleloader hunters, falconry guys, road hunters, atv hunters, coon hunters, bear hunters, lion hunters, deer hunters, elk hunters, rabbit hunters, etc, unless i'm the one hunting. then it's ok. i also hate both private and public land, unless i'm the one hunting on it. hate road hunters, backpack into the middle of nowhere hunters and all the in betweeners. unless it's me. hate guys on horses, mules, llamas, camels, big dogs, etc, unless it's me. yep, i hate everyone, except me. that way i can whine all i want. never be happy. never see anyone elses point of view. just have my own little narrow avenue for thinking. i'm real happy in my own little world, even tho there is a big ol' world out there.

Haha, canyon hunter reminds me of an old guy from texas who would ##### and ##### about how the world was never like it was in the good ole days. How times are changing for the worse and the younger generation of people are screwing everything up. Canyon Hunter was probably bitchin at the yankees when they were building railroads and more people were moving out west!

And the point is this: everyone is self-riteous about the "right" way to hunt and some people feel the need to get on a soapbox once in a while. That's all. On another subject, everyone is a piss poor driver but me.

glad someone saw the sarcasm. as you get older you have to do things different. i'm going in for my 7th knee surgery tuesday. i'll still be sore come deer season, but hopefully i can get around a little. when folks bash other hunters it pisses me off. when i was a kid i loved to get as far from the road as fast as i could. now i gotta take a horse to get too far away. but still manage. my ol' man is pushing 80. at best he has to use one cane. sometimes 2. but he still gets a buck every year. he shot a big ol' 6x6 bull last year too. my boys are still young and they live to get into the wilderness. take off with a backpack and a rifle and be gone for days. wish i could still run with em. anytime you bash someone because they have a different opinion or preferences it just makes ya look igernut. if it's legal, then go for it. i like to see "everyone" hunt. need to be more hunters if this way of life is gonna last. and we all gotta figure out a way to make it work because they ain't makin' anymore land these days. anyway, hunt hard, hunt far, hunt by the road, whatever it takes. as long as it's legal, it don't matter how ya hunt, only matters that ya hunt.

I agree, Im am tired of these guys that sit on the roadside and expect to bag their animals. Last year while hunting the Strawberry Valley, I happen to have an encounter with a bunch of sorry A$$ road hunters.

Here's the story...

Early AM came and with anticipation of good things we were headed to our spot. Along the way the highway around strawberry looked like I-15 at rush hour. People pulling off the road and standing around.

Close to Haw's Point I happen to see a very Nice 3x4 come off the hill and into some quakes, I bailed out of the truck and off I went through snow, sluch and mud after the buck. About 500 yards of the road I hit the trees jumped the buck and had a quartering away, hauling ass shot... I pulled up shot and missed the buck. Upon returning to the highway and my waiting hunter pards and talking about the missed oppurtunity, a couple of guys that were STANDING ON THE HIGHWAY watching me run and work to get my deer approached me and..openly stated "We hope you feel good about yourself, running after a buck that was coming right to us."

Now, let's talk about this.. First "coming to us" YOU WERE ON THE ROAD. I made an effort to get the sucker, running through snow, working for it. And it was YOUR buck.. come on man.

Road Hunters and easy riders are not hunters, they are complainers and DO NOT BELONG IN THE FIELD. You want a trophy go after it, make it happen WORK FOR IT! Don't expect to reap rewards without working for it.

I really think DWR of UT should start writing tickets for Road Hutners... You want your buck or bull... GET OFF THE HIGHWAYS! BOTTOM LINE!!

I'd prefer it if everyone stayed on the highways. Jeez guys, just walk 5 miles and you'll be amazed at how few people you will see. If road hunters affect you that much, you are doing something wrong. My dad has bad knees and has to stay near the road. I say to each his own.

sorry if anyone was offended. Everybody has to hunt the way they choose. I just know that I see alot more when I get away from the easy to get to places.
