Here are a few pics, of mine and my brother's (Mickey)buck. Needless to say we had an awesome hunt. My bro's buck (1st two photo's) is a hog, a great heavy 8x4 that grossed 211 5/8th's. He arrowed him opening morning. I got mine the following Tuesday and he is an incredibly tall 6x5 with 27 inch main beams and 17 inches of trash. He grossed an even 203". We had seen both bucks numerous times scouting and we knew Mickey's buck was great. However we never did give my buck much credit, simply because he was not very wide. But after spending four hours with him at less then 45 yards on Tuesday, I knew he was pretty special. So after He got out of his bed and stretched for a few seconds he walked into a good shooting lane at 26 yards and I slipped and arrow through him. When I walked up to him I knew he was well into the 190's, but when we put a tape on him the inches just kept adding up. We are pretty dang lucky to have bagged two 200+ inchers in less then 3 days of hunting.

Enjoy the pics.

Thanks for sharing the pics. I'm glad you did!

It cracks me up when guys don't share pics of critters cause their deer are gonna be in a magazine or DVD.

Looking forward to hearing more about how the hunt(s) unfolded.

Those are two pigs. You guys know where all the big deer are. Great pics and thanks for sharing.

Congrats Mick and Jer, Great bucks. Now you two will have time to take me next year when I draw my Pauns tag.

Glad to see Mickey shaved for the photo of your buck. He's looking too much like your dad with that mustache.

Maybe we will see you south of the big ditch. I hear you are recruiting potential meat packers. Good luck on 10!

Couple of Dandys. Great start to the Dream season. Good luck on round 2 down south.I have a couple of tips for 10 from a crusty old horn hunter I met over the weekend.I will send an email .

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!! (Oh My Gosh) That tall buck is one of the coolest bucks I've ever seen. Height rocks!! And I guess the other one is pretty cool too.....

excellent job, you guys are stars in my book congrats.thanks for the pictures.

Thanks everyone for all the comments.. I'll tell ya I thought the bucks were for sure going to hear my belly rumbling. . I was sure getting hungry, waiting for so long. I was able to get in a couple of minutes of shut eye with the bucks, my sunburned neck will atest to that. lol!. With all the tall grass I was able to belly crawl to within 45 yards of the buck and then just wait him out. I just wish I had my camera's with me, and I could have got alot of pictures and video. Oh well. The whole deal is for sure going to be one of my fondest hunting experience's. Several times I thought smaller bucks were going to ruin it but they just fed bye and bedded down 20 or so yards behind me. Still not sure why they never caught wind of me. Here is another pic, that is hopefully a little bigger. We were however able to get a tiny bit of my brothers kill shot on video.. Not great footage but still pretty cool.

Congrats to you both...

A bad day hunting is better than a Good Day at Work!!

Congrats Jeremy, and we'll done on the homework prior to the hunt. Bad boys like that are not easy to find let alone get with a bow. How tall is he? Finally I've seen a buck that I might actually believe is 30" tall.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-01-05 AT 02:11PM (MST)[p]Jeremy,
Do you ever shoot anything small, or even average? :)

I would recommend setting up a booth somewhere and charging guys $10 to rub your head for some of that drawing luck you have had the last two years. Might put a little gas money in your pocket.

By the way, I enjoyed the footage of your hunt, along with your grampa's in Doyle's video. I about tipped over on his shot. That was priceless. I'll be hunting elk in a couple of weeks across the pavement from your elk unit last year, hopefully I will have similar success.

Well earned trophies I'm sure. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to seeing more in the future.

There are 41 posts on this thread giving the guys kudu's for their hard work and for killing awesome bucks. But it never fails that there is going to be someone come along and try to take their successes away from them. Why not just stick your boot in your mouth and hold your tongue? Do you feel like you're a better hunter by trying to take something away from another hunter? These guys shot beautiful bucks. Tell them congrats, enjoy the pictures, then go and hunt harder. Save the criticism and negativity for yourself.

By the way guys, awesome bucks!

Corey

Those are two really nice elk you guys got, hope I can find one like that this year!

Thanks for ruinning my hunt this year, as i come to full draw or ease in on the trigger, its going to be hard to get those images out of my mind.

Congrats to you and your bro, what an awesome experience. Feel free to sit down and type out every single detail...

thanks again for sharing

Lucas,

Why ask for forgiveness? Does it make them any bigger or smaller if they are private land deer? The answer to the first part of your question these bucks were killed on private land. Second part NO!,, Color Country Outfitters works on a CWMU. Not that I would not like to hunt there(Heatons) land but I do not have $10k just laying around to BUY one of there tags. Now to answer your next question before you write it, yes our private land borders the Heaton's. We were just lucky to draw the tags.
The question that needs to be asked is how many paunsaugunt deer summer on private land? Ask the other 25 resident public hunters and I bet they can tell us,,,

Mick,

Your not stirring anything up, and I would not have said anything if I would have seen the other thread and Jer's response. Hope we answered your question,

Mick,

p.s. Thanks for the responses from everyone,

Jeremy and Mike:

AWESOME bucks guys, congratulations. Looks like another article in the making for sure. Nice to see people rewarded for the amount of scouting they do all summer long. You were making me drool over the pre-season photos. :)
