On the way home from work yesterday I stopped to glass a crop field where I had seen a few bucks hanging the day before. Couldn't find much until I noticed what looked like the tips of a set of antlers sticking above the barley way off in the distance. It looked like it might be a decent buck so I decided to make a stock and see how close I could sneak up on him for some photos.

This is a shot I took when I finally crawled up to within a 50 to 60 yards of him.

This was when I got to about 20 yards from him.

Then all of a sudden these two guys stood up right beside me.

That no sooner happended and the bigger guy and another little buck stood up in their beds in front of me. As I turned to get the shot they took off. Had I had a bow instead of my camera I'm pretty sure I could have filled my tag.

Then a few more jumped up and they all stopped to see what the hell had just crawled into their bedroom.

Hope you enjoy.

Cool picts. What a sight to see just the antlers peaking up over the tall grass. I guess that big boys huge rack is a major disadvantage in this case. All the smaller bucks cold lay down and you would walk right by.

Rod,
Again, Super Photos!!!! When does the season start for ya? Are you able to hunt muleys this year or are you just stuck hunting those monster Alberta Whiteys? :) Today was the opener for several areas in BC. I'm leaving for the highcountry on Monday. I'm taking a ton of film with me in my backpack so I hope to at least capture some stunning scenery.

I see the smaller bucks are already rubbed out, here its kinda vise versa the bigger ones usually rub out first, Great pics and thanks for sharing.
