Just a quick couple of questions- First are there any good deer and places to hunt in the yost area? how are the crowds? Is it worth a try? The second question is about hunting up in cache valley. I am familiar with logan canyon (fly fish it all the time) but not to familiar with hunting there. Are there any good places worth trying in that area? and also what about the rest of cache valley?, I really don't know where to go and what to expect if I were to hunt these areas. Help please. Thanks, Any help would be appreciated.

The Yost area will have alot of hunters out their durring the rifle hunt. I would try the Logan area.

I would have to agree. Hunted Yost a couple years ago and it was a zoo.

I have hunted the Yost area a lot. Even during the ML hunt, it looks like a regular rifle hunt elsewhere. If you want solitude, get a long way from the roads in the Logan area and you will find it. I have tried to hike a long ways in the Yost area and still end up seeing people. Kind of frustrating when you have worked your gutts out to find "solitude" to find out that some other group of hunters had the same idea. I am sure they were frustrated to see me too. Anyway, I have had solitude on the Wasatch Front (Ogden, Davis Co. etc.) by hiking away from the crowds, but be ready for REALLY steep country.

Good Luck! FH

i agree with fh, if you want to avoid the crouds avoid sawtooth all together, there are plenty of good places in logan canyon try temple fork, the sinks (at least that is what i know them as ) and there is a road from black smiths fork to logan canyon, the easiest way that i know of is from black smiths take left hand fork and when going up that canyon stay to your left when the road forks. i hope this helps

If you are going to hunt the logan canyon area and are looking for a chance at a "bigger" buck, hunt high and north of the Logan Canyon road. This is a wilderness area and tough to hunt, but it holds a few giant bucks. You will see a lot more hunters if you hunt south of the Logan Canyon road, and very few deer are harvested on that side older than 3 1/2 years of age. Good luck to you.

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for the help- I really appreciate your comments- good luck to you
