Hey guys...
I know it's short notice, but I'm leaving for WY this Saturday. I've caleld the Game Warden and tried getting info from him, but he wasn't much help. Also got a list of ranchers that offer hunting from my buddies (whom all left the office) and call SEVERAL ranched trying to find a place to hunt muleys. Anwyas, either the ranches i contacted wanted too much for a trespass fee ($1500+) or I didn't receive a call back. Not asking for GPS coordiantes, but if anyone would be kind enough to lend some assistance in helping me find a ranch?public land to hunt...would be greatly apprecaited. I DO have maps of the state and have found some BLM areas to hunt as well as walk in areas. But if someone could provide some insight, that would be just fantastic. My cousin and unlce are traveling from MI to partake intheir frist western big game hunt and want to do the best I can. Thanks again for any help...P-Dub...Scott

Very hard to secure private ground for deer in region J, ecspecially around the Laramie Range Area. Many large deer in the area and ranchers get top dollar for them. Most of that areas general areas, which your region j is good for do not open until October 15th. I think the only area opening Oct 1st is area 61. So if your coming on Saturday, you might be a little early, unless your goat hunting. If I were you, start with maps of the Laramie Peak area, or large chunks of BLM land in area 73. Lots of deer in that area with potential for nice racks. Very hard to hunt though, becuase of all the rock outcropping and ledges and steep canyons for the deer to hide in, but your effort will be awarded.

I have maps and will look up the places you suggested. Thannk you for your help...Scott
