Trash or no Trash

I am thinking I might be in a minority in this group but I am not into Trash inthe Antlers at all. I want a nice symetrical 4x4 that has heigth and width. What about the rest of you. Trash or no Trash.

Nontypical in my experience is rarer than typical so I lean that way. IMO my dream buck would have good width, nice mass, alot of trash and a dropper on each side.

DallanC,

I second your thoughts as well. There use to be a BIG Non-Typical with big Droppers on both sides inside the Commercial Hotel/Casino in Elko, NV.
But since they remodeled the main Casino area, the Bucks that were on wall are down to only a few and that Big NT is no longer there, what a shame. But the big Polar Bear is still in glass display case standing upright.

I like my deer a little on the trashy side!
Not quite my dream buck but something like this is close.

I too agree w/ DallanC !!! I like my deer the same as my women;
"alittle on the trashy side" }>

I really like a nice, symmetrical 4x4 with eye guards, and the heavier the better....but, a non-typical with lots of trash would be great also. If I had to choose, I'd probably take the trashy buck, just for the reason the others have said, they are a little harder to come by.

Dutch, that buck is more than just "a little on the trashy side!" That's a little too much trash for me...I'd take a symmetrical buck over that one as long as he had equal width, height, and mass.

Since I've already killed a trashy one, I want a slick, clean typical. And a big one too! Don't we all.

trashy, In my area we have lots of typicals, The trshy ones are really hard to come by, I mean really hard!

I'd lean towards the trashy buck, but one of each would be nice while we're dreaming!

I already have a nice symmetrical 4x4, not a trophy but probably close to a 120-130 buck. That is why I'm now looking for a good trashy one. Granted if a perfect 5x5 200 buck came along, I definitely wouldn't pass him up, 150 even! lol

I'll take 'em either way, If they were standing next to each other - I'd definitely try to level the trashy buck. My personal favorite antler characteristic is MASS and lots of it, the heavier, the better.

I don't see much trash where I hunt so I would like to kill one with a drop tine or stickers...or since we are just talkin...both!

Since I can wish......I'll take a big 4x4 main frame with a couple 3 or 4 inch cheaters on both sided. Good eyeguards. Forget the "drop" tines. Drop tines never did much for me.

Definately Trashier the better. I have taken alot of nice four points, but cannnot seem to get the trashy buck Im looking for. Maybe this year!

I love mine symetrical, heavy, deep forks and NO TRASH! I think the only thing that is uglier than a buck with drop tines and garbage is one in velvet! I peel all of that crap off and color them a little.

LAST EDITED ON Sep-29-05 AT 07:03PM (MST)[p]In Velvet, I Love them Perfectly Symetrical, Long tines. I'd normally prefer a 4x4 with long tines all the way around. But if a 30" 4x4 came out and a 30" 3x3 came out i'd stick the 3x3. Just because I think they are some of the most beautiful looking deer.

Non velvet, I love a little trash. They just look so neat with all that garbage up there!

Well, I'd just like to get a really nice buck! Like others, mass really looks great to me. I'd rather have a buck with smaller tines and more mass. A few cheaters off of a heavy, fairly symetrical rack would lead me to the taxidermist.

Symetrical is nice but I wasn't about to pass on this bad mofo because of a few kickers!!

I'm voting trashy. The neat thing is their uniqueness.
Of course, I wouldn't pass on a nice typical either!!
But trashy is good...

Oh don't get me wrong. I would never ever in my life pass up a buck like that. nobody would. but if he came out of the trees with a nice symetrical 4x4. I would take the 4x4.

No trash, no velvet, Well maybe a few nice stickers unless it's a trashy hog. Some of the really trashy ones really don't do anything for me.
