After watching the awesome fight scene from Lowland Mulies 3, has anyone ever had any success rattling for mulies??? I know it works well with whitetails, but have never tried it personally with mulies.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-10-05 AT 07:53PM (MST)[p]my buddy has had some success rattling for muleys on the extended archery hunt in utah, but I think it was just one buck.

just this morning i watched as 2 forked horn bucks tested their strength and it wasnt 5 mins. until 3 more bucks came in the biggest being a dinky 3 pt. they all had a go at it at 1 point or another. they were taking turns. i think it was the noise that brought them in this went on for about a half hour. saw 2 4pts. going at it pretty good last week. maybe they are just trying to see whos who and size themselves up cuz they were all friends a few weeks ago

Rattling for mule deer can be a very effective way to hunt during the rut. I have a couple of friends that have had great success on late season archery hunts in NM by rattling. It is not as effective with mule deer as it is with whitetail. Everything has to be perfect but if it works just once it could be worth it.

As for the fight scene in Lowland Mulies 3, that was filmed by Jerry Martin out of Sheridan, WY. Jerry is my partner in Mexico and he is like a second dad to me, hard to find a better buck hunter than Jerry. He filmed that 3 or 4 years ago and I will never forget the excitement in his voice when he called me. It was literally 10 minutes after that fight, I'll never forget the way he described it. I like the fact that Steve did not edit out Jerrys voice towards the end of the clip, it will give everybody an idea of what he was thinking as he filmed it. AMAZING sequence!
