LAST EDITED ON Oct-22-05 AT 09:11PM (MST)[p]Nice' would have been a great buck in a year or two...

Sweet Buck! I knew you would get one, there were some great bucks down there. I am envious of the gun. I think I may have to sell off the .270WSM. I just don't like the stock, maybe a weatherby?
Congrats again, he is a great buck, you've killed some dandies down there. Is this one going on the wall?
What made you decide on the barnes? I figure they shot the best, but I thought you loved those accubonds?
Wish I had a smaller gun for AZ. But a hole is a hole no matter how big it is, right?

Jason "The Big Ol' Muley"

I would have thought that in the year 2205 we would be shooting lazers or somthing at deer by then. :p
Great looking buck bro.
Congrats

I just realized that only 4 hours of hunting seperate my big MZ buck form this one, I've only hunted deer for 4hrs in the last two years!!:( That is one amazing place to hunt, once you figure it out. This one is definitely going on the wall, Im really proud of this buck because I had a minute to ananlyze him, decide he was "the one" and take him with a clean offhand shot.
As far as the gun, I love it, its very slim and trim, doesnt weigh much, shoots great, very low recoil for the performance you get. I decided on the Barnes because of the very high velocity this caliber produces, probably any bullet would do for deer, but as you know, I always take a 2nd rifle on my Elk hunts ever since your mishap that first year we hunted there, and I figured I'd better have something tough if I ever had to use it for Elk. And yes, a hole is a hole, except when its a big ole hole in the neck! I'll post the whole story if anybody wants to hear it......

Great lookin' buck man... He's a Dandy, Congrats!

Very nice buck! Congratulations.

Manny: maybe so, but probably only 1 in 100 hunters would have passed up this buck, so chances are he wouldn't have made it another year or two unless he was taken in an extremely limited unit. He who is NOT still looking for that "magical" 30" cast the first stone...

venor, ergo sum (I hunt, therefore I am)

Very nice buck, Congratulations. That late in the afternoon, I assume the deer were bedded and you jumped them? Hopefully the early Kiabab hunt will be produce something that nice for me. By the way, the last picture is awesome. I like to take pictures as I find the animals.

Tony

Manny,

Huh????????

The only bobcat thinking it already is a great buck!!!!!

With those deep forks, he looks to be in the upper 170's for sure. Hard to tell from the pic but he's a slammer. Nice job.

I think he is a GREAT buck right now. Especially for a general Utah Unit! You just killed my dream buck, Congrats! and thanks for postin up the pics.

Thats an awesome buck there chief, really nice and yeah real deep forks. I'm not for sure but just by lookin and throwin a number out there i'm guessin 174! should be pretty close heh> great buck Tony

I just shot one in Wyoming that is very very similar and it runs right at 171. Your buck with those deep forks and nice symetry should be about 175 would be my guess.

Awesome buck there...Looks about like one my uncle shot that was somewhere in the 165 range...

LAST EDITED ON Oct-25-05 AT 09:12AM (MST)[p]WHAT A BUCK T-MAN. You are one lucky sun-of-a-gun. He will look real good on the wall right next to the other one from last year. I'm going to look at the video from over the elk hunt to see if it the same buck me and rod saw over there. I'll let you know. Great forks and real tall just a real pretty buck. Well were are we going to hunt bucks next year.( dedicated hunter). congrat's on a nice buck. Good thing you couldn't get on the west side.
