LAST EDITED ON Oct-24-05 AT 10:05PM (MST)[p]We ran into this buck opening morning right at daylight. He stopped broadside at about 180 yards and I was fortunate enough to put a good shot on him. He was laying dead about 15 yards from where he was standing when I shot. I definately went home happy this year.

Awesome buck man...how wide is he? 27? looks like he should score in the 170's...some great lookin scenery. Hopefully your girls will grow up to shoot big bucks like their dad.....

Wow
I am having a hard time figering which one is the tallest!! Is one taller then the other. But they are both cute kids. I would trade ya a bird dog pup for one of them if you like. Nice deer also. congrats on both

He's 28. I have no idea what he'd score. My daughters are beggin me to take them out now. The oldest one wants a deer head in her room.

Sweet Buck! Congrats to ya....great that your ol' man was there and your daughters gotta share it with you also.

Nice buck... looks like the "Pass It On" tradition is working well in that family. Good job.

Great looking buck , congrats . I think the next best picture of one out in the hills , is one with kids in them . I have a couple with my wifes elk and my daughter and another with my oryx and my other little one , and they make me smile every time I look at them . Great job on a good deer and better yet on "passing it on" ....NMHUNTNUTT

Dahlmer,

Great buck man...love the pics! Was this on private land (cwmu), or during the general rifle hunt? The only reason I ask is because I didn't notice any hunter orange in your pics. Not trying to criticize, just wondering. Despite it being against the law, if it was during the general hunt, you've got some giant nads to not wear orange in Utah! Gutsy move. :)

Very nice buck though. Congrats.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-25-05 AT 04:53PM (MST)[p]No, we were on public ground, general season...the orange is sitting on some oak brush about 10 yards away. We drug the deer up hill for about 20 yards to take pictures and worked outselves into a sweat, thus the removal of coats, sweatshirts, vests, and orange. We didn't see another hunter on top of the mountain, although we saw a few down at the bottom.

Here's a picture with the orange back on.

Awesome buck I love how the main beams curve in and up I've always wanted to shoot a buck like that.

Also how big are the eye guards on that buck you have mounted in the backround they look to be 5-6 inches!!!!!

Dahlmer, when I first openned your post I thought for an instant that it was a picture of me. We look an awful lot alike. Of course, that could just be me wishing that I was in your shoes - I'd love to take a buck like yours. What a beauty!

Oh well, I may not have a buck like that (yet!) but I do have two daughters like you. Looks like you've got a great family, and some up-and-coming hunting partners. Congrats on all of the above (especially the looking like me part ;-) )

No, Grally, I'm not dedicated. I've never muzzleloaded although I would like to try it some time.

Here's a full picture CAjackrabbit. This is a buck my dad killed 3 yrs ago on the Paunsagaunt. I think the eye guards are between 4 and 5 inches.

bcmulie, you must be one handsome devil! I'm definately looking forward to hunting with my kids when they get a little older.

Great buck!!!
I hope the cape is hanging on the other side of that box, cuz that thing better go on the wall! :)
Congrats.
