Fake?

I'm about 99% sure that picture is of a buck that lived on the Tooele Army Depot in Utah and some 16 year-old kid poached him last year. Claimed to have killed him on the Wasatch extended archery, but his picture was too well known and the kid was caught.

It isn't a fake that buck was on the Tooele Army Depot, but was poached last year off the base by a kid who had an extended archery tag for the Wasatch mountains. He tried to get away with slapping that tag on it. Someone realized that was the depot buck and the kid was caught, but i don't know what happened to him.

LAST EDITED ON Oct-25-05 AT 06:14AM (MST)[p]the picture has been doctored. The dear may be real but if you look close you can see two boxes where the anlers are on the dear on the left. You can see dicoleration in the sky where when they added to the picture they didnt blend the background. Also look at the left antler, look at the bush behind it none of the branches line up.

He looks the same in those pics as he does in this pic.--Although, I would say that this pic has been docored a little, to make him look wider than he really was... He was a big ol bugger, that unfortunatley was too tempting for some dumb kid, so he poached him.

If you save the picture to your computer and blow it up, you can see the horizon has been changed by moving the horns on the left hand buck up and out. It is a docotred photo for the left hand deer only. I have seen the pictures taken of all of these deer and there were two that were doctored.

YEAH ITS A FAKE, BUT I HAD THE OPPURTUNITY TO SEE A HEAD MOUNT OF THE DEER IN THE POACHERS TRAILER AT THE STATE FAIR THIS YEAR. THE THING WAS EVEN MORE IMPRESSIVE IN REAL LIFE. THE PICTURE JUST DOESN'T DO IT JUSTICE THATS FOR SURE. I THINK THE KID WAS FINED TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS AND IF I RECALL HIS HUNTING PRIVLEDGES WERE ONLY SUSPENDED FOR A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF YEARS. THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN AWAY FOR GOOD.

eelgrass, I'm sure you are a student of wildlife, as myself. The way the young buck looks with great admiration at the big old non typical, wishing someday just maybe he to will achieve that respect as well.

Man those droptines can grow fast! Its almost like they just.......appeared!! That buck on the left is far too wide too be real. They did something to that pic. Just my opinion.
