Outfitters that produce 190 B/C and higher

Guys-

I'm almost as nuts as Ryan Hatch when it comes to big bucks. I've gone on three outfitted hunts--one with elkhorn outfitters through cabela's, one with Pive Valley outfitters and one with Del Petic outfitters in Mexico. I have taken a 160 class, 180 class and 190 class respectively.

I was disappointed with Cabelas and their booking operation.....elkhorn was a good outfitter but all I saw were 160 class deer and paid 5k. Great hunt but not worth that money. The booking guys raved about 180+ deer all over the place but this place, in my opinion was way over-hunted--30 tags a year on this ranch.

If any of you have any kind of contacts....names of outfitters who produce monsters--besides Doyle Moss--he's great but hard to book with, please let me know.

I work a lot of hours like 90% of the guys out there and don't have time to put in four months of scouting like Guy Eastman or Garth Carter do.

I would not recommend using Cabela's booking. Very impersonal, felt like I was a number, and over-hyped hunts that they got commissions off of. Their are better booking people in the industry.

Help a nut out!

Cabala?s, consulting makes me laugh. Hunters use them and will pay more because of their name. The outfitters they use are quantity outfitters not quality. Also 7J outfitters are not consistent trophy producers

There are a few outfitters who consistently produce 180+ - 200+ bucks and Cabala?s is not using a single one of them

Remember you can $hit the tourist but I live here

Eastern Colorado plains/Western Kansas. Look into these areas and there are several outfitters who specialize in big deer. You might have to try muzzleloading for the right seasons.

Wow, those are high standards. That would be tough for any outfitter to consistently produce, at least under fair chase. having been there you probably already know this, the best shot for bucks of that caliber is Sonora, Mexico. Or book Larson Panzy on the Jicarilla. Just get ready to open your wallet.

Either that or get in line with everyone else who wants to hunt the Kaibab, the AZ Strip, the Paunsagaunt, the Book Cliffs, the Uncompagre, etc.

Bud-

Share the wealth, who are the 180+-200+ outfitters?

I've heard of Bucks and Bulls in Utah......anyone else?

I agree Jicarilla would be the place to go....however I do not want to shell out $15K to hunt there. Totally unreasonable...they take 190-200 class deer, but I can spend 5-7K and get a shot at the same quality somewhere else.

BRYAN ADAIR NM 1-505-632-9653 WHAT THIS MAN TELS YOU WILL BE THE TRUTH I HAVE HAD A HARD TIME FINDING A GUIDE THAT DOES NOT LIE TO YOU I TOLD HIM I WANTED TO KILL A 300 CLASS BULL I JUST GOT HOME WITH A 316 HE SAID HE WILL NOT LET A HUNTER SHOT A DEER UNDER 170 CLASS ON THE NOVEMBER HUNT IF I UNDER STOOD HIM RIGHT HE ALSO TALKED ABOUT THE CHANCE AT A 200 CLASS GIVE HIM A CALL HE WILL BE HARD TO GET A HOLD OF RIGHT NOW HE HAS 2 NOV. HUNT GETTING READY TO START

I also booked Cabela's once !

The worst hunt that i've ever had ! the guide gave up after three days !

Said that they started at around 180" class as well. Seen 2
Forked horns and over thirty hunters on 9,000 acres in Debeque
Colorado. $5,000.00

Cy Angelo wrote and said that they would make it right, Sevrenson would not return calls.
Still waiting, it has been since 98

Made me so mad that i bought my own ranch here in New Mexico.

Bucks and bulls is great, Trophy hunter Magazine has a good number of quality outfitters.

Eastern Colorado is hot. Mike Ukrainetz in Canada is good.

Bucks and Bulls would be among the top of my list. As would a number of other CWMUs in Utah-Ensign and the Alton just to name a few.

I wouldn't expect a legitimate shot at a buck of the caliber you're looking for, for under $8-10 thousand. Atleast not in Utah.

If I were you, I'd buy a landowner/conservation tag and go selfguided.

I would take a long look at Kennedy Hunting Services in NE New Mexico and Southern Colorado. His smokepole hunts in NM are awfully good and he usually takes a couple 190's in his Colorado hunts yearly with rifle. His hunts are in your price range and very limited. He has an unbelievable amount of land available to hunt.

I guarantee you this Kirk and his crew will treat your right. I have hunted with him on three occassions 1998 (elk), 2001 (mule deer), and again this year for antelope. Each was a great experience and he remembers our deer from 2001 - they were the fighting bucks. I killed a mid 170's 4pt and the best buck that week scored 203B&C.

Prices are listed on the website.

I've heard this question a lot. Mike Ukrainetz is good. I would also suggest Scott Taylor in the Peace River country of Alberta. Look at his website (Bear Paw Outfitters). They AVERAGED 189 lat year on 100% harvest on 20 deer.

We took 11 bucks off of our private ranches in Wyoming this year. 7 had trash or cheaters. The best one was scored by a B&C scorer in Utah at 195 and 5/8 and 3 others were over 180.

Another option is some of the CWMU's in Utah. They still get some big-time bucks.

The best deal may be to move to Saskatchewan, and become Cam's neighbor. You could hide a GPS unit on his pickup and find out his honey holes.

Good luck.

I would also recommend Scott Taylor, but his hunts are full for years the last I heard. We are booked next year and his references are unreal. He had a cancellation and we took advantage of the opening.

Any of the good Canadian hunts would also be good - we huntd an Indian Reserve last year - killed a 181 Muley (just massive), but it was a bad, mismanaged hunt and one I couldn't recommend.
