..on the last day doesn't it? Well luckily for me this year it did. To top it all off I was able to share it with some really good friends. My buddy that was paralyzed in a car accident back in July was right there along with me when I was able to harvest this buck. He's a 4X4 and just over 29" wide. Not bad for a consulation prize to the buck I really wanted. So, I guess he'll have to do. ;) Jade was also able to take a nice buck on his hunt, 24" 4X5 with a really cool drop tine off his G2. I was fortunate enough to be along with him and film he whole thing when he took it.

Thanks guys, I would tell the story, but, I can't. You know, rules! I entered them in the big buck contest. Not for the size of the bucks, but for the story. It's a good one! Hope you stay tuned.

Very nice mule deer. I'm curious, where, on the antlers, did you measure your spread to come up with over 29, and 24"? I'm not questioning your measuring skills, I'm curious where guys measure to get spread. As you know, B/C style scoring is inside mainbeam. I think most people, when posting width, measure outside widest point, even to the end of a sticker. It would be nice if people would put where the width was measured, just to be clear. Thanks for posting.

Well, TF, not sure it really matters, but since you asked. I meased to the widest point, which is G3 to G3, and that goes for both bucks. On my buck his widest point "inside" his mains is 26". I'm pretty sure that most of the guys that post on here are giving the "outside" spread. So, thanks for asking.

Hey, thanks for the answer. As I mentioned, I'm just trying to get a handle on how guys report their spread measurments. Nothing more. thanks again for your help.

That looks just like the buck that I've always wanted to get. Congrats on a super trophy. I assume you must have taken off your orange for the pictures, but I wouldn't do that if I were you. I'm glad you had your orange clad buddies with you in the photos. When a slob hunter sees a great big buck bedded out in the open sometimes its tough to see the guy in camo moving the head around. Just a helpful hint. Again, congrats on a great and successful hunt.

Yes, I had my hunter orange on. I had taken it off and was getting ready to clean the deer up when we decided to take more pictures. Thanks again for all the nice comments.
