Just wondering if anyone with an archery LE Wasatch tag has filled it yet? My wife has one and we have saw a ton of nice bulls but only a few close encounters.

I have been up on the Wasatch all week helping utfireman with his LE tag.
No blood yet, the bulls in our area are not even close to wanting to rut.
We were seeing several nice bulls each day with a few bruisers.
Every bull we saw was still in their summer time mode and in groups in deep canyons.....very frustrating.
We went up on the tops a couple times and saw cows, calves and spike bulls by the dozens!
There were 12 spikes in one canyon! (spike hunters need not inquire ;-))
Things should change here any day now, maples are turning red and quakie leaves are getting lighter.

I did hear of a smoker bull taken in American Fork Canyon.....

That is good to hear my wife isnt the only one frustrated. If the spike hunters would get off the road they would do great. We watched 6 spike tonight all in the same canyon. I agree with you the bulls are still in summertime mode. With this cold front tonight and tomorrow maybe will bring some more changes. We have also seen some dandy's. Good luck to all of you and please post those pics when they eat dirt.

Oh ya that's right Jim i almost forgot!
What i THOUGHT was a big bull was a pile of spikes standing really close!! Rofl

Wait a minute here......killing spikes doesn't work on LE units along with having NUMEROUS mature tags, there's no possible way i saw about 20 young 6x6's, 5x5's and spike bulls out the wazzoo!!
I must have just been dreaming that i was in elk heaven!!!

I haven't heard of any good ones hitting the ground, but they were talking Sunday morning. I have had the horses out a few times, and saw a few nice bulls, but they have all been either solo or with other bulls. If work allows me to get away I may be able to bring the horses up to help pack out your elk. Send me a PM if you are interested.

Tree,

He wasn't to bad wbut we were scratching our heads when he showed up in a Toyota Celica. At least now it looks a little more rustic with all those custom pin stripes on it.

Make sure he takes car of that dog, my wife has asked me 20 times already if flash is ok.

>Slammy, hopefully that blonde, lippy kid
>didn't rive you too nuts.;-)

Last I saw Flash, he was being traded for a 50 dollar bill to a family of Philipinos. I'm sure they'll take good care of him. Probably give him a good curry and fish sauce bath. }>
