Here are a few Book Cliffs Bucks. Not the monsters we were looking for, but still some decent bucks.

Congratulations on your bucks! I have six bonus points and have been pretty sold on putting in for the cliffs next year. However, I have heard from a lot of people that the number of mature bucks is really down this year. Did you see a lot bucks? Would you recommend it? Your information would be much appreciated!

Nice bucks. I think those are the size that 95%+ of hunters will take in the Books. There are a few better but there are lots of bucks that size and smaller.

ktc, don't get me wrong, I am happy with the outcome. But we were looking for a couple of whoppers that we seen earlier in the season.

Muledeerhunter, we hunted for 6 days, during those days we seen 40 - 50 bucks. There are a lot of 3 points, but if you are willing to spend some time, there is a very good chance of spotting some nice mature bucks.

We scouted some different areas earlier in the season and was hoping for some weather before the hunt. We didn't receive any weather and it was hot and dry. I think the bigger boys were still higher in elevation.

I had 6 points this year, and drew out. I can't wait until I am eligeble to apply again. It was probably the best hunting experience I have ever had.

Thanks for the information! I look forward to hunting that unit. Maybe we will get lucky next year and get some weather.

Thanks,

Mike

Yes, all the deer were low. We spent 2 days up higher looking for some bigger bucks. We did see one monster 5x5 but he never gave us a shot. Other that this one buck, all we saw high were elk.

The deer were holding up in the mid-range of elevation. One day we hunted down low, around buck canyon and seen a couple of does but that all. I think if we would have received some weather it would have brought some of the bigger bucks down lower.
