Well fellas, sorry it took so long but been busy since I got back.I really want to thank you guys on the site who were kind enough to help me in my research. You know who you are.I was just really getting serious about finding a great buck and doing some nosing around in new area as I have 7 preference points. I found this guy during the last week of the general season after hiking into a real nasty hole and setting up my spotting scope befor daylite.I shot him in his bed at 300 yards. 270 short mag. Thats a long ways for me but could not get any closer without spooking him....He is 26" wide, gross is 180 3/8. non-tipical is 177 3/8 and tipical is 172 1/8. the cool thing is he is very heavy all the way up. This was a very big body deer as well. My best buck ever! but the best part is I still have 7 points for next years draw! Thanks again!

Sorry the picture is too big/coming soon! If anyone wants to help I will send it to you....

If you still have your 7 points it must have been a general season hunt?

Here he is!

Great buck! It'll be hard to better him. Did you have to bone him out? Any guess on the weight? Sounds like a text book hunt for trophy mulies.

Nice, nice buck. Good job on turning some tips into a trophy muley for the wall and even better for reporting back to the guys on this site.

Wow, great buck and awesome mass. I guess you found a good area to try and use your 7 points next year.
I have to start again from zero.

Lemondog,

Nice buck!!! Great mass. He will look very nice on your wall. Thanks for the pic.

That is a buck of a lifetime. Congratulations. Those burn areas are simply incredible.

I've lived here in WA. my whole life and I can easily say you shot the buck I dream about every year. Congrats to ya. That is a friggin' brute!

Thanks for all the nice comments. I feel very lucky to get a buck of this caliber without using my points up. I have been working on it for a while now(passed up 27 bucks in the yakima training center and went home empty 6 years ago) and have missed 3 170 or better bucks with my bow over the years. Now I have got to figure out what that #1 choice is going to be????Hummmmm....any suggestions?

Love the Washington bucks. Reminds me of some of the heavy-hornded, big bodied brutes I used to weigh-in at our store in Loomis back in the late 70's and early 80's...

Congrats.
