What is a 404 bull mount worth?

I have a delima. I recently got divorced and my funds have been milked dry. The only thing I have left to pay my lawyer fees is a 404 typical 6 point shoulder mount. These are actually sheds I found and the RMEF mounted it for me in exchange to use it on their elk tour for a year. My question is how much do you think it's worth? I know everyone thinks their antlers are worth more than they really are, so just shoot me straight. I did get offered 10 grand once for a non-typical 399 bull I found. The offer came at the Jackson antler auction. I turned it down. That bull has since been sold and I'm not saying for how much. sorry.

Or do I not even sell the bull and figure something else out? If it was a bull I shot then there would be no way I would sell it. What do you all think?

I think you had a really lousy lawyer

great post/pic, thanks for sharing

I actually won everything there was to win as far as custody and all the other issues. It just cost a lot to get there. It got real ugly.

ebay! you could easily get around 3500 horn buyers are way down and the market for big horns is going downhill to!

Not sure about a 404 but I can tell you there was a 397 bull for sale in a gas station\resturant for atleast 4 years I remember. I have not been there for a couple of years so it may have sold. $3300.00 the last time I was there down from the orignal asking price of $4500.00

Would some kind of loan $$ with your bull as collateral maybe help you thru the Divorce crap?

No interest $$$ type deal ------ just helping a fellow 'divorcie' and hunter out .....

WOW. Thats a nice offer. Kudos to you.

The lawyer must not be a hunter or he would trade you for it.
I think Robb will treat ya like a brother.

After reading the soap operas on the elk forum, I think I'd contact Tony first and get his humble opinion. Then, I'd contact Tom Sr. for his input. And finally, give Darin a holler and see what he has to say. If thats not good enough...okay Okay, how much do you want for the mount?

Robb, that is very considerate of you. You don't even know me, but you make an offer like that!? I absolutely hate the idea of being in debt though. I guess I really don't know what to say. I do know I don't want to get rid of the bull though. I will have to think about it, that is if you are serious? I honestly don't think I can make myself borrow money though. I haven't even gotten the final bill yet either. She's appealing it all, so who knows how expensive it will get or how long it will last. Again, I truely appreciate the offer, but I have to think about it.

Elklover,

Just some advice, don't pannick, wait for the bill and see how things turn out. Been down that road and I know it is tough. Once you look back and after the dust is settled you realize it wasn't as bad as you thought. Emotions are strong and sometimes it doesn't feel like you are going to ever get ahead but you will. Patience, it will work out for you. Firesales generally are not the best answer unless you have no other options or your back is against the wall and you have to make a move.

You are better off hanging on to them at this point and figuring something else out. You can always try but most people are looking for bargains right now and not willing to pay premium price for anything.

It's always an adventure!!!

El Klover-
You know why divorces are so damn expensive?? Because they're worth it!! Keep fighting the fight, the kids are what are the most important!!

Don't sell this bull. Pay your lawyer payments. Trust me, he will accept it. Lawyers are very reluctant to sue clients because clients file ethics complaint (frivilous or not).

"What is a 404 bull mount worth?"............it's worth nothing, if you didn't hunt it yourself. Sell it.

Well---------I do not respond to 'hidden profile'
type guys.....but-----I just noticed that....

I do not need your bull in my Trophy Room, my niece has opened up her very own business----- a Boutique/Saloon.

She would just love to have a great big mount in her foyer.....

Thus the offer....

I certainly--- totally respect your personal 'debt' avoidance game plan.

That is very very well thought out.

You are always welcome to touchbase with me (a PM is fine)if 'Da Ex' squeezes your nuts and ya need a pinch of help in the future..........we have all been there! ha

Robb, thanks again. I'll keep you in mind, but I may have already found a way out without borrowing money. Maybe I'll PM you and explain why I blocked my info on MM. Then you'll know where I'm coming from. I'm not a sneaky guy or a scandalist, although it may seem that way. I understand that. I am actually a 3rd grade school teacher and about as honest as they come.

Rodent_ID, your link didn't work.

Lets see a photo even if you do not sell it I would love to see a big bull..

Rob let me know if your sister could use a 320 class mount at her place no charge I just have one to many and need a good place to have it

No problem young fella......believe in yourself for sure.

Thanks Clint, I will chat with her, and I am sure she will certainly appreciate your offer.......

Be safe this fall fella's,

Robb
