Psychology of Limited Tags

LAST EDITED ON Nov-13-05 AT 02:23PM (MST)[p]I'm sure this all goes back to supply and demand or the perception of supply and demand that we all have.

Does anybody else find it odd and interesting that as soon as tags become available over the counter or unlimited that desire for the tags drops?

And the opposite happens when tags become limited-demand seems to go up!

Exaples; Southeast Idaho deer tags, and Utah muzzleloader elk tags, etc........

I know I feel a lot better about a hunt if I have to DRAW IT. Makes it seems more valuble and more desireable.

Kind of funny isn't it?

Yep! There is something about getting a "draw" tag in your grubby fist that makes you feel pretty special alright.

About 80% of most hunts is the anticipation and planning. When you get that "draw" tag in the mail, and you get it locked away in the gun safe, then the real dreaming starts!

You just hope the real hunt is half as good as the dreams!:)

It makes sense, draws usually have FAR less people hunting that unit, whereas the OTC tag units have all of bessys favorite ATV'ers on em.

Your right, seems like the hills were crawling with Muzzle elk last year and this year hardly a soul. Maybe Utah should make all of Northern a limited entry only. That way maybe they would have a chance of selling out.
