BOOK CLIFFS ELK, WHAT AREA?

I HAVE A MUZZLELOADER ELK TAG AND HAVE BEEN SCOUTING AROUND THE WINTER RIDGE, MOON RIDGE AND TENMILE AREA, BUT HAVE RECENTLY HEARD ABOUT THE RAT HOLE CANYON AREA. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

I havent been out there this year like I have in the past but I will say that the areas you had mentioned at first are some pretty good areas for that hunt especially and maybe even a little farther south would be good. I have a buddy that just got done with the archery elk hunt and he says that the rat hole area was a little crowded and they were not seeing what they were in some different areas near rat hole so. good luck man

your in good area's, but popular area's. look in the middle of those two, dont forget to look low.

Don't know how it will affect them but there's a 3000 acre fire thats been burning for a month around rathole and to the south down to around atchee ridge.

You should hunt around the fence canyon area. Bigger bulls and less Hunters. Rathole is on fire and lots more smoke than anywhere in the Book's.
