Anyone know what the wa state record typical mule deer is? A buddy of my cousins claims that his buddy shot a buck over 200 on a special permit hunt. I asked the same thing you probably would have. GOT PICS??

Kris

well your buddy would fit in around here, seems you can't sling a dead cat without hitting the recnt killer of a 200" buck on MM.

I don't know anything about the WA state record, but I would sure love to see some pics of that pig that was taken in my home state!

I believe the official WA record nets 207 and some change. Their is another buck that last I knew hadn't been officially scored by B&C but is in the Record Book of WA Big Game put out by Northwest Big Game that grossed 225 and netted like 215 or more. I don't remember exactly. I do know that it wouldn't officially be recognized as the state record untill scored by B&C. There was a question as to wether or not B&C would score the G4 on one side as a typical point or not because it is really close to forking off the G1 and not the main beam.

I have seen both bucks in person and they are very impressive. Those type of bucks will be hard to beat.

If you can get pics, post them. I would love to see a buckof that caliber come from WA.

Did your cousins buddy get it in the Chiwawa unit? I saw pictures of a buck over 200 taken in the late hunt but it was over 200 non typical but still over 190 typical I believe.
Was it fairly narrow, only about 24" wide, but really tall with huge forks?
My taxidermist friend will be doing his mount if it is the same buck you are talking about.
I don't have the pictures and at this time do not have the permission to post them even if I did.

They were hunting the swakane(sp). It was on a special permit rifle hunt. Claims he's never seen this many deer in there before. I'll be heading that direction over thanksgiving weekend with a bow in hand so I'll see if he's full of it or not.

State record is a 202 buck according to the latest B&C mule deer and elk book. The buck Lowedog was talking about is impressive, but B&C might not score it the same as NW big game records. Looking at the buck I doubt they would. Either way we need to get some pics.......sounds like there were at least a couple hogs killed.......

We agree with the 202 typical score for the WA State Record. There were some really good bucks taken during the High Hunt, General and Permit Season that may challenge that number this season. Here is a photo of our best High Hunt buck. The G2 is damaged a little and has a little kicker but the mass is going to get it some points. What do you think this will score? This hunter's friend had a Slide Ridge (GMU 246) permit and took a buck with a 30" spread.

alright....i think everybodys had enough, where are the pictures?????? im dying here lol

Sorry, I thought that I had this photo thing figured out; guess not. The easiest will be to visit www.icicleoutfitters.com the go to the hunting page photos. Click on the first photo to see the one I want a P&Y guess for. Most of the other photos are also from this year's High Hunt.

Well apparently they didn't shoot it. They run into a guy that shot the buck. They said he was measuring it when they seen him. They said it was 37" wide. Claimed he rough scored it at over 200". Anyone hear of a buck like this killed near Cashmere?

Those are some dandy bucks on your web page. That first one is humongous. I'd love to harvest a deer of that magnitude some day.

I just spent the last two days trying to get a 190 on film. He wasn't very cooperative though. I did see one of larger caliber, but was a whitie. I'll post the story over in the hunting forum when I get a chance. Its a whopper of a story.
