LAST EDITED ON Nov-18-05 AT 03:41AM (MST)[p]Well I am one proud dad !! This is my son Boone, he's 13 and this is his first deer. It is from the juniors hunt in the Kiababs 12A West on Saturday November the 12th @ 1:50pm. he sot her one time, a perfect heart shot at 102 yards freehanded !!!!! and yes I did tell him thats better than his old man did on his first deer ! however it could not have been done any more perfectly by me or anyone else, just a great hunt with a great kid. and got to meet stanley on the hunt as well so it was a good time all around. saw ALOT of deer, a couple of really nice Kiabab bucks and many does- ALONG with many, many, many hunters. met quite a few dads and kids on this hunt and all were very nice and friendly. also want to thank the jada for the job they did for the juniors on this hunt, everyone there was open and helpful, and I signed my son up for a youth membership in thier organization. it was an all around great time for the kids AND us dads, I am already being asked about next year, can't Waite !!!!!

LAST EDITED ON Nov-18-05 AT 12:25PM (MST)[p]Good deal Michael! Congrats to Boone and yourself! As mentioned in my PM, it was a pleasure to meet you & him up there (also highly coincidental, considering all the country up there...).

My boy ended-up killing one on Saturday morning. One shot and she dropped like a sack of rocks! ;-) As with you, this was the sweetest trophy that I've ever been a part of hunting. There is NOTHING like watching your kid make that first kill. Lots of hugs & high-fives! :)

PS: KUDOS to you for the sportsmanship you demonstrated out in the winter range that night. FOLKS, after running into Michael and his son WAY out in the middle of nowhere, we were following him out at about dark. Well, he stops his truck and gets out, and I'm thinking they've spotted some deer. No deer though, just Michael stopping to pick-up a 1 gallon water jug that some slob had left. He dropped it in the back of his truck and moved on. GREAT EXAMPLE FOR THE KIDS! ;-)

thanks stanley, it was cool to run into/meet you as well- go figure huh ? middle of nowhere and two guys from here meet- ha !pass on the congrats to your boy as well, alot-o-fun wasn't it ?? my boy asked me on the way home "are there any other junior hunts I can go on" OH POOPY- I THINK HE'S BEEN BITTEN !!

p.s. you had better tell that buddy of yours "I told him so !!" about my beloved DALLAS COWBOYS beating his birds- AGAIN !! ha ha ha ha ha

Wonderful success story! You and your son now share a common bond that even time will not erase! Congratulations to both of you.
