PEDESTAL MOUNTS---NEED IDEAS

I am looking for some ideas for a pedestal mount. My father in law has two great bucks, that he has never had mounted. One is about a 30" wide, 190 gross buck with some cheaters. THe second is a 29" straight typical that I would guess in the 170-180 class range.

Anyways, he wants to have something nice done with them, and I was thinking about having the taxidermist do a double pedestal mount with the two bucks. My father in law really likes the idea, but wants to see some different pedestal mounts, so that he can get an idea of what he would like.

If anyone has a pedestal mount/even a wall pedestal, please post pics for me thanks!!

Here are the two bucks that we are thinking about having done

My father in laws buck is the one on the far left:

Tuff, you need to see the Wall pedestal mount that I will be having done with mine. We can run over to the taxi's house this week and I can show you.. I think once you see it, you wont be disappointed.

Tuff, get Founder to post his. It's a floor pedestal with the buck in a Fleming posture (lip curl). It's darn cool!

Sorry its so big, kind of makes up for how small they are.

Thanks guys. Those are ALL awesome mounts. That last one is almost EXACTLY what I had in mind. ONe buck in a sneak, one in an alert. Thanks for the ideas! I will show this post to my father in law when he gets back into town.

Thanks again!

We are doing our 2 6x6 bulls from '05 on one floor pedestal. More like a low table after all the drawings and planning. They will be in the rut-fighting-locked horns type look.... going to the craft store and do some natural look on the space between the bulls heads/locked horns........ although we have thought about putting a 'Hair On' hide between them instead of craft store vegetation stuff........ Then the bull I already have mounted will be re-placed on the wall kinda high centered above the floor pedestal with the fighting bulls... under it.

A little more cashflow than we originally planned for----- so me and a carpenter buddy (along with some 'Crown'...) are going to make the floor pedestal and use some leftover 1/2 log on the face and sides......from the trophy room walls.

I've seen that treestump/old fence post mount alot, it does look good.

BFE,
I like the looks of the pedestal mount with the coues (which aren't no slackers themselves).

Seriously, that coues mount is unreal. Thanks for the ideas. Can't wait to get another one to throw on the wall.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-06-05 AT 08:23AM (MST)[p]This is the wall mount of my Utah antelope. I did the base while TR Taxidermy did the shoulder mount.
I have a mule deer taken in southern Utah that I will be doing a similar type base, but resembling the sandstone found there. Still looking for that round tuit.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-06-05 AT 06:53PM (MST)[p]The taxi that is mounting my buck (Paul Pennie in Alpine) does some extremly awesome work. Here is a buck he killed and mounted. I will try to find the other pedestal picks I have of some of his collection.
