National Public Radio Interview

A real example of the story as it has been circulated:



I was listening to the radio the other day, and I heard one of the all-time best comeback lines in my life. Note: This is an exact replication of National Public Radio (NPR) interview between a female broadcaster, and US Army General Reinwald who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military installation.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER: So, General Reinwald, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?"
GENERAL REINWALD: We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery, and shooting."
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: "Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?"
GENERAL REINWALD: "I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range."
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: "Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?"
GENERAL REINWALD: "I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm. "
FEMALE INTERVIEWER: "But you're equipping them to become violent killers."

GENERAL REINWALD: "Well, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you? "




NPR denies that any such interview ever took place. But wouldn't you just love to put one of those liberal anti gun wacko's in their place just once!

B.S. like this doesn't do anyone any favors. If you believe everything you get in your e-mail like this one, you've probably bought fake Viagra from India by now. You're story is pretty transparent as:

A; I'm guessing you have never listened to NPR in your life, which you don't actually say in the "e-mail" that you are, and

B; the story is from 1999

You might want to check the link below or any others you can find on this new search engine called "Google". Do your homework before spouting off.

Sure, Kilowatt, I did. Saying npr denied it doesn't excuse him from forwarding something that's not true. Does that excuse me from forwarding on some b.s. story about sci(none that I know of) and presenting it as truth? No, it doesn't. I am very respectful of the way you guys monitor this website, but I find somtimes disagreement is not so well recieved. It usually gets the response that you're an anti, which is not true in a lot of cases.

BBC, Yeah, my wife interviewed him, because she spends a lot of time doing that sort of thing, being a career woman and mother of 2, and riding her quad from ca to nv. BTW, there is a caps key you can turn off. I truly hope to meet you in the sage someday. I'm so sorry you live in ca.

There are a lot of good people that disagree with some of the stuff posted on this forum, but when they say anything about it, they get the usual response, not just from posters, but from the forum monitors. That's my 50 cents.

I posted it for the snappy comeback. False or not it is a great line. I have listened to NPR in my life, most of which I have no use for.
Just because NPR denies the interview never took place doesn't mean it never happened.
