I have been reading and hearing about block management units in Montana. What are these and how do you gain access for them. I am also wondering how to get some good maps of these block units. Thanks again guys for all your help.

BMA is private land that allow public access. There are three different types. Some you can just walk in, some you need to sign in, and others you atcually need permission from the landowner.
I'm not sure if they'll continue the program next year, it was up for review either in 2006 or after 2006. You should still be able to get info on them from each individual FWP region office. They're contact info is on the FWP website. Hsould be easy to search for.

Thanks for the info that sounds like a good deal. Hopefully they keep that program going, it sounds like a good one.
thanks again

The program is alive and well. You can contact the region you will be hunting and get the maps you need. BMA areas are a good thing for hunters and landowners. Sadly, tresspass fees and leases are becoming all too common. mtmuley
